Attracting investment to develop various types of trade and service sectors, along with improving product quality, is a driving force that promotes other service industries in the region. Therefore, the districts, towns, and cities in the province have mobilized all available resources to develop a comprehensive commercial infrastructure system, harmonizing traditional trade with modern commerce, in line with the nature and level of market development.
Currently, the province has 4 shopping centers, 16 supermarkets, and 58 Winmart+ stores. Additionally, there are numerous specialized stores and convenience stores operating under modern models. The province also has 197 markets, including 3 grade-I markets, 13 grade-II markets, and 181 grade-III markets. The value of goods traded at these markets accounts for approximately 35-40%, contributing to the consumption of goods, boosting production, and serving the needs of the local population.
Viet Tri City is a dynamic commercial hub with 3 shopping centers, 8 supermarkets, 32 Winmart+ stores, and 18 markets, 2 of which are managed by businesses and 16 by the People’s Committees of the communes and wards. Currently, markets such as Bach Hac, Nong Trang, Du Lau, and Tan Dan are being surveyed, researched, and invested in by developers. To contribute to the development of trade and services and improve the living standards of residents, the city has created favorable conditions for various economic sectors to participate in investment, business, and production in the area; it encourages households with properties on main roads near markets to invest and expand business activities with a wide range of products and services. As a result, goods in the city are circulating smoothly, with stable prices, and a modern and civilized transaction habit is gradually being formed among the residents.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hien - Deputy Director of Co.opmart Viet Tri Supermarket in Viet Tri City, said: “With its outstanding advantages in shopping space, high-quality products with clear origin and provenance, and convenient payment methods, Co.opmart Viet Tri Supermarket has gradually become a regular shopping channel for many consumers.”
Currently, various types of commerce in the province are developing in a modern direction, increasing convenience, saving time, and ensuring safety in shopping. The development of integrated commerce has contributed to economic growth in each locality, created jobs, and improved the quality of life for the residents. In 2024, the total retail sales and social consumption services of the province reached over 57,000 billion VND, an increase of 12.9% compared to the same period last year.
In the future, the province will continue to improve commercial infrastructure, contributing to strengthening and improving the business environment, promoting business development, and meeting the consumption needs of the local people. This will make a positive contribution to the province’s economic growth. The province will issue more mechanisms and policies to encourage investment in modern commercial infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for economic sectors to participate in business and infrastructure investment, especially in remote areas, mountainous regions, and districts. At the same time, the province will focus on rationally distributing the market network, modern commercial infrastructure, and the system of warehouses and petrol stations across the districts, towns, and cities to meet the production and consumption needs of the local people. Strengthening state management will provide motivation for domestic businesses to stabilize market prices and build a civilized, modern commercial environment, protecting the interests of businesses, consumer rights, and public health.
