Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duy Dong inspects the progress of several transport projects in the province

On the afternoon of February 1, Mr. Tran Duy Dong – Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee – inspected the implementation of several transport projects in the Phu Tho area and provided instructions on the province’s transport network planning.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong inspected the progress of the project connecting the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway with the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong and Vice Chairman Quach Tat Liem visited and presented gifts to workers from Tu Lap Construction Co., Ltd., who are currently constructing the link between the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway and the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway.

The project connecting the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway with the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway has a total length of 2.736 km. To date, the completed workload has reached approximately 40.55%, with efforts focused on completing and putting the route into operation by April 30, 2026.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duy Dong conducted a field inspection of the Inter-regional Road Project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with National Highway 70B and National Highway 32C from Phu Tho to Yen Bai. The project has a total investment of 2.12 trillion VND. The main route is designed as a Level III mountainous road with a speed of 60 km/h and a total length of 53.5 km. The accumulated construction volume to date is 1.417 out of 1.424 trillion VND, reaching 99.5%.

The branch road connecting the main route to the Cam Khe Industrial Park is designed according to Level III delta road standards with a speed of 80 km/h and a length of approximately 3.083 km. The accumulated construction volume is 107 out of 112 billion VND, reaching 95.5%.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duy Dong conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Inter-regional Road Project connecting Ho Chi Minh Road with National Highway 70B and National Highway 32C from Phu Tho to Yen Bai.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong and Vice Chairman Quach Tat Liem visited and presented gifts to workers of Transport Engineering Construction Corporation 8 (Cienco 8), who are constructing the connection between the inter-regional road and Cam Khe IP.

The extended road from the start of the main route (at km0) to National Highway 32 (at km76+150) is designed as a Level III delta road with a length of 3.726 km. The accumulated construction volume is 55 out of 94 billion VND, reaching 58.5%.

Regarding the project connecting the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway with the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway, the total length is 2.736 km (starting at the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway and ending at the existing Ho Chi Minh Road). The route is designed to expressway standards with a design speed of 100 km/h and a total investment of 692.525 billion VND; the completed workload has reached 40.55%.

Chairman Tran Duy Dong and Vice Chairman Quach Tat Liem also visited and encouraged workers from Tu Lap Construction Co., Ltd. who are working on the extended inter-regional road project connecting to National Highway 32 in Tam Nong District. This project aims for completion and commissioning in the first quarter of 2026.

At the sites, Chairman Tran Duy Dong highly commended the sense of responsibility and efforts of the investors, contractors, engineers, and workers. He praised their ability to overcome challenges in land clearance and unfavorable weather, working in “3 shifts and 4 crews” to keep the projects on schedule.

He requested that investors stay close to the field, develop detailed schedules for each item, and promptly report any obstacles to the Provincial People’s Committee for resolution, while ensuring labor safety and project quality. In this “final sprint” phase, they must work with the spirit of “conquering the sun and defeating the rain,” utilizing all resources to make up for any delays and ensuring the projects reach the finish line on time.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duy Dong listened to reports and proposals for the project connecting National Highway 2D (QL2D) to Provincial Roads 320C (TL320C) and 315B (TL315B), passing through Au Co Ward and Chi Tien Commune (the bypass for the former Phu Tho Town).

While visiting and encouraging workers directly involved in construction at the sites, Chairman Tran Duy Dong urged investors and contractors to continue prioritizing the welfare, working conditions, and daily lives of their employees. He emphasized ensuring that workers enjoy a joyful, warm, and safe Tet holiday, allowing them to remain dedicated to the project and strive to complete all items according to the set schedule and quality standards.

The Chairman also reviewed the proposal for the project connecting the Hung King Temple Historic Site to the Tuyen Quang – Phu Tho Expressway.

After conducting field inspections of various proposed routes—including the QL2D to TL320C/TL315B link, the route from the IC-9 Interchange to Provincial Road 315B (connecting to the Phu Ha Industrial Park), and the road from Hung King Temple to the Tuyen Quang – Phu Tho Expressway—Chairman Tran Duy Dong shared his vision for the province’s transport network. He underscored the vital importance of these projects in expanding urban development space and attracting industrial investment.

The Chairman noted that the development of the province’s transport system requires meticulous calculation and clear investment phasing. The overarching principle is to prioritize urgent and practical projects that maximize inter-regional connectivity, effectively serve the people’s travel needs, and create momentum for socio-economic development in alignment with the province’s spatial orientation and future growth requirements.
