Developing the Wood Processing Craft in Tay Coc
Tay Coc is one of the wood processing “capitals” of Phu Tho Province. The entire commune currently has 93 enterprises and processing facilities operating in this sector, generating employment for approximately 1,300 workers with an average income ranging from 6 to 9 million VND per person per month. From Tay Coc, raw wood following preliminary processing is transported across all regions of the country to produce industrial wood products serving essential daily needs.
Wood purchased from localities within and outside the province is transported to raw material staging yards.
Wood logs are cut into uniform lengths before being moved to the peeling area.
Here, the wood is peeled into thin veneer sheets.
The sheets are then transported to the plywood drying area.
Veneers are sun-dried for 4 to 5 sunny days.
After drying, veneers are gathered and transferred to pressing workshops within and outside the province.
Branches and smaller wood limbs are repurposed for wood chipping.
Alongside wood peeling and chipping, pallet manufacturing represents one of the primary products of Tay Coc’s wood processing industry.
Joy in labor among local wood processing workers.
