Enhancing job creation for workers

In 2023, activities in the economic and social fields gradually stabilize and grow. Production and business activities of enterprises do not have many fluctuations, their scale is increasingly expanding, creating great revenue and export value. From there, opportunities to find jobs for workers are opened.

Ms. Nguyen Hien Ngoc - Head of Employment and Labor Safety Division, Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said: "Through a field survey at the beginning of the year, a number of FDI enterprises in the field of electronics, processing electronic components, connecting cables... has a large demand for recruiting workers such as: BYD Vietnam Electronics Co., Ltd., JH Vina Co., Ltd., Almus Vina Co., Ltd., Future Innovation Vietnam Co., Ltd.,... These enterprises mainly recruit more workers to expand production lines and increase product output in the last months of the year. Recruitment needs by the end of 2023 of enterprises with a number of 3,000-4,000 workers are mainly enterprises operating in the fields of electronics, garment..., of which the majority are unskilled workers.

In order to increase job creation for workers associated with the needs of enterprises, from the beginning of the year until now, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has directed its affiliated units to strengthen the connection with labor market information, improve effectiveness of the job exchanges with more diverse and abundant numbers and forms.

The whole province organized 34 job transaction sessions (reaching 121% of the annual plan), of which 17 regular sessions at Employment Service and Vocational Education Center, 10 online job transaction sessions, two sessions for workers to enjoy unemployment insurance and five mobile sessions at districts and schools. By the end of September 2023, the Center had provided employment consultation to nearly 27,000 people, including introduction of domestic jobs to more than 3,000 people.

Coordination with socio-political organizations to deploy propaganda conferences on employment policies and market information on sending workers to work abroad under contracts is also supported by the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs for implementation. Accordingly, in 2023, the Department has coordinated with the Provincial Veterans Association and Division 316 to organize the propaganda for over 2,000 soldiers preparing to complete their military service; Coordinated with the Provincial Youth Union and Provincial Police Department to provide career counseling and job introduction to nearly 160 union members and young people who are non-commissioned officers and soldiers whose active duty term has expired in the People’s Police. The Department coordinated with the People’s Committee of Thanh Thuy district and Yen Lap district to organize a propaganda conference on employment and labor export policies for more than 2,100 students from high schools in the area...

From efforts in creating jobs, in 2023, the number of employed workers in the province will increase by nearly 16,900 people, reaching 102.4% of the annual plan. Through the loan program for 269 projects from the National Job Creation Fund, jobs have been created, maintained and expanded for nearly 200 workers, loan turnover reached more than 12.8 billion VND, which increases the total outstanding debt by the end of 2023 estimated to reach more than 71.6 billion VND. The unemployment rate in urban areas is at 1.4%.
