More than 10 years of implementing the National Target Program to build new rural areas (NR), from a district with a low starting point, many difficulties and challenges, but with the efforts and high determination of the Party, government and People, Thanh Ba has achieved important achievements. The entire district has 18/18 communes that meet NR standards, of which three communes Thanh Ha, Dong Xuan, and Dong Thanh are recognized as advanced NR communes. On February 7, 2024, the Prime Minister signed a Decision recognizing Thanh Ba district as meeting NR standards in 2023.

As a midland and mountainous district of Phu Tho province, in recent times, Thanh Ba has always determined that socio-economic infrastructure development is a breakthrough, creating motivation for production and building new rural areas. The district also determined that building new rural areas must be associated with restructuring the agricultural sector, with the industrialization of agriculture and rural areas, increasing people’s income in a sustainable, comprehensive, in-depth manner while protecting environment, improving rural landscapes, promoting good traditional cultural values...

In particular, with the guiding spirit and viewpoint: “strong from the area, strong from the commune” to “achieve a solid rural area”, localities focus on embellishing, consolidating, and improving the quality of the criteria. Communes and towns all launched peak waves of new rural construction, focusing on criteria such as production organization, transportation, environmental protection, building model new rural residential areas... attracting participation and response of a large number of people from all walks of life.

It can be seen that the appearance of Thanh Ba urban and rural areas has seen many improvements; The fields of education - training, health, culture and sports are constantly developing, meeting the needs of the notable people, in recent years, the district Party Committee has always determined that developing the transportation network is a prerequisite to attract investment, create regional links, and develop socio-economics. In particular, focusing on three key traffic projects connecting with the district center such as: Road connecting from km30 intersection of Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway to Thanh Ba district center; The connecting road from the district center to Bai Ba Industrial Cluster (IC) via provincial road 314 with IC9 intersection of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway and the connecting route to expand Thanh Ba town via provincial road 314B, provincial road 314 with the southern area of the district (phase 1) with a total length of about 20km, total investment of 500 billion VND.

In addition, Thanh Ba district has also planned to build four industrial clusters, of which two clusters have been put into operation, attracting 21 businesses to register for production and business activities; The occupancy rate reached 70%, creating jobs for more than 2,500 workers. Currently continuing to build technical infrastructure, compensation and site clearance in two industrial clusters, Bai Ba 2 Industrial Complex and Quang Yen Industrial Complex with a total area of more than 144 hectares, total investment of nearly 1,000 billion VND...

Having determined that creating new rural regions has a beginning but no end, it is necessary to maintain and improve the quality of criteria. Thanh Ba district will focus on synchronizing measures, including good implementation of two breakthrough stages: “Building infrastructure to attract investment in industrial and service development” and “Developing agriculture towards producing goods using high technology”; mobilizing and integrating capital sources from socio-economic development projects and policies, vocational training, etc to improve new rural area criteria, serving as a basis for rapid, sustainable poverty reduction and raising improve the material and spiritual life of the people.
