Leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee visits, encourages production and works with a number of processing firms

On February 23, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee - visited and encouraged production in Thanh Ba district, working with a number of agricultural processing enterprises.

The delegation visited and worked at Phu Ben Tea Company Limited in Thanh Ba town. After functioning and transferring funds between owners, Phu Ben Tea One Member Limited Liability Company will have a new owner in January 2024, TLK Agriculture JSC (a legal entity under the Vietnam Tea Corporation - JSC (Vinatea, jsc.)). TLK Agriculture JSC, the member that owns Phu Ben Tea, accomplished the requirements of paying taxes, social insurance, and debts of previously outstanding credit institutions of Phu Ben Tea Company. The corporation continues to maintain and use more than 2,195 hectares of property in the province. According to the plan, the Company will spend in 2024 to rehabilitate Khanh Hoa Tea Factory and Ha Hoa Tea Factory so that they may resume production; design technological lines in accordance with business strategy.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai expressed his excitement that Phu Ben Tea Company Limited has a new owner, TLK Agriculture Joint Stock Company, which is affiliated with Vinatea and has extensive experience in tea production and trading. In the context of production activities facing numerous challenges due to competition and the impact of the global economic and political situation, he requested that businesses clearly define specific goals and solutions to regenerate the economy’s production structure, thereby making an important contribution to restructuring the province’s tea industry in particular and agriculture in general. Businesses must build sustainable raw material areas and model models for tea production, processing, and consumption in Vietnam province and country by assessing the current state of production, determining the variety structure, and standardizing farming processes. They must also improve corporate governance efficiency, develop appropriate business strategies, diversify products, and build strong brands. He recommended that enterprises work together with departments, branches, and local authorities to remove any lingering issues and hurdles and promptly stabilize production. On the occasion of the start of the new Spring, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee wished the business many breakthroughs in production and business, promoting the potential and advantages of tea - one of the province’s key crops, the cradle of the economy tea industry; bringing to market many high-quality tea products, meeting domestic demand and serving exports.

During the event, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai paid visits to Hoai Trung Tea Company Limited in Chi Tien commune and UT Tea Investment and Development Company Limited in Van Linh commune, where he presented flowers and encouraged officials, workers, and staff. Hoai Trung Tea Company Limited now employs 50 regular people, and the company expects to generate more than 15 billion VND in sales by 2023. The Company’s premium green tea is the province’s first national five-star OCOP product to get recognition.

UT Tea Investment and Development Company Limited has a production capacity of 1,000 tons per year. The firm collaborates and links production and consumption with 300 homes across 320 hectares. In 2022, the Company will have a purple tea bud product with a four-star OCOP at the provincial level and is making a request to the Central Government to raise it to five stars.

While listening to the report, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai recognized and complimented the two firms' energy, innovation, and excitement for producing traditional tea products. He proposed that the two enterprises continue to study to improve and diversify their goods; extend consuming markets; develop sustainable ties to grow standard raw material areas; and arrange production according to contemporary methods, with the goal of producing organic teas.

At the same time, there is collaboration with state management authorities to enhance the manufacturing process, particularly for traditional tea goods, which helps to promote the Phu Tho tea brand. He desired that firms entering the Year of the Dragon 2024 will continue to thrive, achieve numerous accomplishments, and contribute favorably to the province’s economic progress.
