General Phan Van Giang visits and works with the Provincial Military Command

On the afternoon of January 10, the working delegation of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, led by General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, and Minister of National Defense, paid a working visit to the Provincial Military Command. Major General Tran Van Bac, Commander of Military Region 2 attended the delegation.

Welcoming and working with the delegation were: Bui Minh Chau, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Colonel Nguyen Dinh Cuong, Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; and leaders of departments and offices under the Provincial Military Command.

At the meeting, Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang highlighted the outstanding activities of the entire army in the past year, such as consulting and organizing activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day, and the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024... The army actively worked to address incidents of disasters, natural disasters, storms, and floods.

Commending the results and achievements of the Phu Tho Provincial Military Forces in the past year, especially clearly demonstrating the core role of being a solid support to help people respond to and overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 (Yagi), the collapse of Phong Chau bridge, participating in search and rescue, and helping people stabilize their lives, thereby exemplifying the spirit of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the new period. Local Party committees and authorities have positively contributed to achieving these results. With that meaning, he hoped that Phu Tho province would continue to create favorable conditions for military units stationed in the area to perform their assigned tasks well.

On the eve of the New Year of 2025, General Phan Van Giang sent his best wishes for health and a happy new year to all officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command and sent his best wishes to the individual and family of Provincial Party Secretary Bui Minh Chau. The General hoped that the Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command would continue to strengthen the leadership and direction of agencies and units to strictly maintain combat readiness, especially focusing on the upcoming Spring of 2025; improve the quality of training work, build disciplined, strong and comprehensively “exemplary and typical” agencies and units; prepare well for the Party Congresses at all levels in the Provincial Military Party Committee, term 2025-2030; taking care of Tet for cadres and soldiers to ensure safety and savings.

Expressing gratitude for the Minister’s attention, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee, Provincial Party Secretary Bui Minh Chau said that over the years, Phu Tho province has always received the attention, help, and support of the Ministry of National Defense in military work, local defense, and political tasks of the provincial armed forces. Thereby, contributing to maintaining national defense and security, creating favorable conditions for the Phu Tho Provincial Party Committee to lead and direct the successful implementation of socio-economic development goals, party building, and building a strong political system.

In particular, when Storm No. 3 occurred in 2024 and caused damage in the province, under the direction of the Ministry of National Defense, military units did not hesitate to face difficulties, mobilized forces and means day and night to support Phu Tho province in rescue, disaster relief, damage recovery, stabilizing the lives of people in flooded areas, and maintaining smooth traffic when Phong Chau Bridge collapsed. Those images contributed to shining a light on Uncle Ho’s soldiers in peacetime and beautifying the glorious tradition of 80 years of building, fighting, and growing the heroic Vietnam People’s Army.

The Provincial Party Secretary affirmed that the Provincial Military Party Committee will be determined to lead the successful implementation of assigned tasks, focusing on performing well the local military and defense work.
