Along with the task of guiding tourists to practice religious rituals at temples, in recent times, the chief keepers and assistants, who oversee the Hung Kings’ Temple Historical Relic Site, have also acted as a historical “bridge” to guide and answer questions from tourists who want to learn about the national origin.
Chief Keeper Dao Van Manh
Selected as the chief keeper of the Upper Temple in 2023, right from the first days of taking on the task, Mr. Nguyen Van Quy (from Hy Cuong commune, Viet Tri city) considered this an honor for himself, his family and locality, and clearly defined the ideology and responsibilities when representing the country’s people in taking care of ancestral shrines and guiding the community to practice spiritual religious rituals in the place of origin of the nation. The Chief Keeper Nguyen Van Quy shared: “I always uphold my sense of responsibility at work and complete well the assigned tasks.
Especially on holidays, Tet, Spring and the Hung Kings’ Death Anniversary - Hung Kings’ Temple Festival when a large number of tourists come here, including many high-ranking delegations from the Central Government, ministries, branches and provinces, and foreign diplomatic delegations... I have tried to overcome all difficulties in weather and old age to complete the task of lighting incense, worshiping ancestors and carefully serving a large number of compatriots and tourists, following traditional customs and rituals. I must always make sure no complaints or negative feedback from tourists about my service and guidance attitude.”
For many years, the chief keepers and assistants have always raised their sense of responsibility while performing their tasks, united and agreed to exchange, share experiences and coordinate closely with the officers of the Relic Site in charge of doing service at temples and pagodas. In work, the chief keepers and assistants always comply with the dress code: Wearing ao the, turban, cloth shoes, badges... create solemnity and trust in visitors; At the same time, strictly comply with the regulations on working hours, opening and closing the temple according to the regulations set forth.
With their knowledge and experience, the chief keepers and assistants have enthusiastically guided compatriots and tourists to practice ancestral worship rituals in accordance with the national traditions, thereby making practical contributions to propagandizing, promoting and introducing the Hung King’s Temple Historical Relic Site and the Hung Kings’ era to a large number of compatriots and tourists.
