On the afternoon of April 10, Hung Vuong University organized the Bunpimay 2026 (Lao Buddhist Era 2569) celebration for Lao international students. The event was attended by representatives from the Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs, the Phu Tho Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, Friendship School 80, along with numerous Lao staff and students currently studying at the university.
Leaders, delegates, and Lao students participate in traditional rituals of the Bunpimay Festival.
In a warm atmosphere of friendship, delegates and students joined in traditional Bunpimay rituals, including the wrist-tying ceremony and water splashing to pray for luck in the New Year. The program also featured vibrant cultural performances showcasing the unique identities of both Laos and Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, the leadership of Hung Vuong University extended their best wishes to the Lao students for a joyful and cozy Bunpimay celebration in Vietnam. Highlighting the bilateral relationship, the university leaders affirmed that the Vietnam-Laos bond is not just neighborly but a brotherhood that remains "forever green and eternally sustainable." In this historical journey, education and training serve as the bridge of knowledge and the thread connecting the future of both nations.
As a trusted educational institution entrusted by the Party and State with the mission of human resource development for Laos, by 2026, Hung Vuong University has supported the dreams of over 400 Lao students. Many generations of graduates have become key officials, contributing significantly to the prosperity of Laos.
Prestigious awards such as the Friendship Medal (2011) and the Third-Class Labor Order (2021) conferred by the President of the Lao PDR serve as recognition of the university’s efforts and motivation for its faculty and students. Affirming the role of Lao students as “friendship ambassadors,” Hung Vuong University committed to remaining a “second home,” providing all necessary conditions for students to focus on their studies and comprehensive development.

Commending the students' efforts to overcome challenges, the university leadership encouraged them to continue striving in their studies to contribute to their homeland upon graduation, thereby further nurturing the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Previously, Hung Vuong University coordinated with Friendship School 80 to organize the Vietnamese Language Contest for Lao students for the 2025-2026 academic year. Four teams competed in two categories: “Introducing Vietnam-Laos Culture in Vietnamese” and "Talent Showcase." The contest was lively and engaging, demonstrating the students' confidence, creativity, and increasing proficiency in the Vietnamese language, while fostering deeper mutual understanding and solidarity.
