en.baophutho.vn - Phu Tho province currently has nearly 15.7 thousand hectares of tea plantations with the output of fresh bud tea reaching 181.8 thousand tons/ year. In particular, there are 11.0 thousand hectares of safe tea production area. High quality tea varieties such as Kim Tuyen, Phuc Van Tien, PH8, PH10, and LDP1 are exported to many countries around the world such as India, China, Germany, and England. In recent years, the province has focused on building the brand name “Phu Tho Tea”, in which the application of technology in green tea production is particularly promoted to create a brand to affirm the position of Fatherland tea.
The whole province has 18 tea products that have obtained the provincial OCOP product certification of 3 stars or more, including 10 4-star tea products (Olong tea, Bat Tien green tea, Phu Ho specialty green tea, Matcha milk tea,....), 8 3-star tea products (Yen Ky green tea, Phu Ho green tea, Cam My green tea...). Some enterprises engaged in comprehensive processing combined with product branding such as Phu Tho New Generation Company Limited with tea bags, canned and bottled tea, Matcha green tea powder, and fresh milk tea,... Bao Long Tea Company Limited with products of Olong tea, green tea pellets, raw green tea; Hoai Trung Tea Company Limited, Ha Trang Tea Company...
Currently, in the province, the implementation of planning and zoning of raw material areas associates the responsibilities of processing facilities where the investment in building raw material areas is made through signing cooperation contracts for production and consumption of farming products. Since then 57 tea processing enterprises have been established with a capacity of over 10 tons of fresh bud tea per day. 100% of processing establishments have their own raw material areas or sign contracts for building raw material areas to ensure enough supplies for the factories to operate in accordance with current regulations (national standards and regulations on tea processing establishments and tea processing factories, etc.). 21 out of 57 tea processing establishments (accounting for 36.8%) with a capacity of over 1 ton of fresh bud tea per day have applied the advanced quality management system ISO, HCCP; 142 concentrated green tea production areas with an area of 3,256 hectares of tea are certified for safe production processes.
The promotion of transfer and application of science and technology, especially high technology, biotechnology, safe and organic production processes to improve productivity, quality, design and competitiveness of products have been focused by the Agriculture sector and localities in the province. In particular, implementing a variety of supporting policies for production and processing to improve the quality and value of Phu Tho tea products such as supporting 15 small and medium enterprises to apply the innovative and synchronous drying and sorting technology in processing green tea and black tea. Strengthening application of the digital transformation in production and processing management, and product consumption activities in service of product management and traceability, and business connection in cyberspace. Improving the mechanization capacity at all stages in the value chain; continuing to transfer and apply new technical advances (varieties, farming methods, fertilizers and irrigation technology...) in order to improve the productivity and quality of raw tea.
“Besides strengthening cooperation with institutes and centers for applied scientific research and advanced technology transfer into production, the Agriculture sector and localities should promote application of circular, organic, and sustainable agricultural production processes in production, especially in concentrated production areas; ensure 100% of the concentrated green tea production area follows the safe production processes (RA, VietGAP, organic...), including 2% of the concentrated production area for organic production; continue to innovate the processing equipment in a synchronous and modern direction; apply high technology in product preservation and packaging such as vacuum sealers, impregnated drying, incense incubators, and packaging machines to improve the product quality and ensure the food safety” - said Mr. Tran Tu Anh, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
