In recent times, Phu Ninh District has decisively focused its resources on breaking through the comprehensive infrastructure development, resulting in significant socio-economic achievements. The district has witnessed a new, vibrant, civilized, and modern look, with continuous improvements in the material and spiritual lives of its residents.
Le Phuc Tuat, Head of the District’s Economic and Infrastructure Department, shared that during the 2020-2025 period, many major projects from the central government, the province, and the district have been implemented, including the renovation and upgrading of roads and drainage systems on National Highway 2; the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway; the renovation, reinforcement, and upgrading of Au Co Road; repairs to the foundation, road surfaces, and structures on Provincial Road 323D; transportation connections between Provincial Road 323 and National Highway 2; transportation connections from Provincial Road 325B (Bac Lam Thao Industrial Cluster) - National Highway 2 - Provincial Road 323H - District Road P2 (Phu Gia Industrial Cluster); and transportation connections from National Highway 2 to the Phong Chau Town bypass; as well as various district and communal roads.
Situated in the province’s economic development zone, the transportation projects invested in the district have created seamless connections between production areas and trade with neighboring regions, attracting investors to infrastructure business and production in industrial clusters (ICs).
Currently, there are three ICs in the district: Đồng Lạng IC, Tử Đà - An Đạo IC, and Phú Gia IC. Presently, industrial and small-scale industrial production activities are stable, with rapid development of foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises contributing to the district’s economic growth.
As of August, the district has 147 projects with a total registered investment capital of over 16,325 billion VND. Among these, the ICs have 58 projects with a total investment of 217,595,442 USD, equivalent to over 5,004 billion VND; outside the ICs, there are 82 projects with a total investment of over 8,594 billion VND, and housing development projects consist of 7 projects with a total investment of over 2,726 billion VND.
To date, the district has received approval from the Provincial People’s Committee for the Phu Ninh District Regional Construction Planning until 2035, with a vision to 2050, at a scale of 1/25,000. The General Construction Planning for the communes for the 2021-2030 period has been completed, and the overall adjustment of the General Construction Planning for Phong Châu Town and surrounding areas until 2035, at a scale of 1/5,000, has been submitted for evaluation and approval. Investments have been made to maintain and enhance the criteria for new rural development (NRD), reviewing criteria and investing in building civilized urban areas, advanced NRD communes, and an NRD district.
Additionally, the district continues to improve the investment and business environment to attract resources for development. There has been a strong focus on effectively implementing the breakthrough in the comprehensive development of key infrastructure to promote socio-economic growth, ensure national defense, security, and social order, and accelerate the NRD process. By leveraging the district’s potential and advantages, combined with the solidarity and high political determination of the Party, government, and people, Phu Ninh will continue to develop comprehensively and sustainably.
