Opening of the 2026 Hung Lo Communal House Festival

On the morning of April 22, the Van Phu Ward People’s Committee held the opening ceremony of the 2026 Hung Lo Communal House Festival. This is a prominent cultural activity organized within the framework of the Hung Kings' Commemoration – Hung Temple Festival and Ancestral Land Culture and Tourism Week 2026.

Hung Lo Communal House is a quintessential historical and cultural relic of the Ancestral Land, closely associated with the Worship of Hung Kings. It also serves as a vital space for preserving and practicing Phu Tho Xoan Singing—a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. Through generations, this site has been not only a place for communal spiritual activities but also a sanctuary for conserving and passing down unique traditional cultural values, enriching the national identity.

The 2026 Hung Lo Communal House Festival takes place over five days, from April 22 to 26 (corresponding to the 6th to the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month), featuring a rich variety of activities that harmoniously combine solemn rituals and vibrant festivities. The highlight is the Traditional Palanquin Procession on April 25 (the 9th day of the 3rd lunar month), with broad participation from the local community, recreating the distinctive cultural atmosphere of the Ancestral Land.

Furthermore, numerous cultural and sporting activities and folk games are organized, including a Banh Chung wrapping and cooking competition, art exchanges, Ancient Xoan Singing performances, and Xoan Singing on the communal house pond, creating a unique and attractive cultural space for tourists.

Notably, the exhibition and promotion of craft village products, OCOP products, and local traditional goods not only enhance brand awareness but also open opportunities for connecting and developing community-based tourism.

The Hung Lo Communal House Festival is held annually to express gratitude for the nation-building merits of the Hung Kings while contributing to the preservation and promotion of national cultural identity. This is also an occasion to promote the image of Van Phu’s land and people to friends and tourists, creating a joyful atmosphere and strengthening the great national unity.
