Agricultural production following VietGAP standards, circular farming, organic agriculture, and green agriculture has become an inevitable trend in modern farming. Organic agriculture helps eliminate or significantly reduce the use of chemical-based products, replacing them with biological agents that are environmentally friendly and beneficial to ecosystems. This ensures the health of both producers and consumers.

Safe vegetable production under organic-oriented models, combined with processing, has helped products from Tu Xa Safe Vegetable Cooperative in Phung Nguyen Commune reach major supermarkets, thereby increasing income for its members.
During the 2021–2025 period, in addition to developing pilot models, the provincial agricultural sector has proactively coordinated with several organic production facilities to evaluate and propose to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment the certification of products meeting the national organic standards TCVN 11041-2:2017. Examples include: Toan Viet Organic Fruit Farm in Xuan Lung Commune; a cooperative production–consumption model for organic leafy vegetables at Green Food Cooperative in Ban Nguyen Commune; a similar model for melons and other vegetables at Ngan Ha Agricultural and Service Cooperative in Au Co Ward; and organic tea cultivation at Cozy Tea Generation Co., Ltd. in Phong Chau Ward.
In the former Vinh Phuc Province, to further promote organic agriculture and spread sustainable farming practices, the province implemented the project “Development of Organic and Organic-Oriented Agriculture in Vinh Phuc Province, 2023–2025.” This initiative has created safe vegetable production areas in communes with favorable natural conditions, while forming several economically effective organic models. Notable examples include: cultivating ba kich (Morinda officinalis) and developing an organic tea production–consumption linkage over 4 hectares in Tam Dao Commune; and organic-oriented black grape cultivation in Yen Lac and Binh Xuyen Communes. Many organic-oriented agricultural models have also been established in Lap Thach, Tam Dao, Binh Xuyen, Yen Lac, and Tam Duong.
Meanwhile, key products such as Cao Phong oranges, Tan Lac pomelos, Luong Son clean vegetables, Tan Lac sugarcane, and Kim Boi longans represent the distinct agricultural identity of the former Hoa Binh Province. In recent years, both the farming areaand output in Hoa Binh have grown rapidly. Before the provincial merger, Hoa Binh had already established four cooperatives, two production groups, and one company specializing in vegetable cultivation; one cooperative and one citrus fruit farm certified under Vietnam’s organic standards. The province also developed support policies to encourage organizations and individuals to invest in organic farming, attracting businesses in the agricultural sector—particularly in sustainable organic crop production—with priority given to citrus fruits and medicinal plants.
As of now, the province has formed 641 concentrated crop production zones covering 82,110 hectares, including 290 high-quality rice zones (56,370 ha), 61 vegetable zones (4,230 ha), 70 tea zones (5,870 ha), and 220 fruit zones (15,630 ha). The province has issued 732 planting area codes with a total area of 9,100 ha for crops such as pomelo, orange, banana, dragon fruit, tea, and vegetables—of which 101 are export-certified zones (1,200 ha) and 631 serve the domestic market (7,890 ha). Additionally, 219 safe agricultural supply chains have been established, including production–consumption–export linkages for pomelo (Doan Hung pomelo, red pomelo in Tan Lac, Dien pomelo in Yen Thuy) and banana export chains in Luong Son, Cao Phong, and Ha Hoa districts.

Organic-oriented production has also benefited cooperatives such as the Manh Lien Safe Fruit and Vegetable Cooperative in Tam Nong Commune, improving quality and market access.
Resolution No. 19-NQ/TW dated June 16, 2022, by the 13th Central Party Committee on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas through 2030 with a vision to 2045 clearly emphasizes the encouragement of “green, organic, and circular agriculture.” Earlier, in 2018, the Government issued Decree No. 109/2018/ND-CP on organic agriculture, followed by Decision No. 885/QD-TTg in 2020 approving the National Plan for Organic Agriculture Development for 2020–2030. These serve as crucial foundations for Vietnam’s organic agriculture to align with global development trends.

The Blue Sea Trading and Service Co., Ltd. in Vinh Chan Commune is applying biological disease control methods for banana plants—an organic production approach aimed at export markets.
According to Mr. Nguyen Truong Giang, Deputy Director of the Sub-Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection: “To develop a stable and sustainable organic agriculture sector with high economic value, the agricultural industry will strengthen public communication and raise awareness of the importance of organic products among managers, producers, enterprises, and consumers. It is also essential to ensure strict compliance with production, processing, monitoring, and certification standards for organic agricultural products, while fostering a workforce capable of applying science, technology, and effective economic management to support organic agricultural development.”
