Recently, the Closing and Awarding Ceremony for outstanding athletes took place at the Ha Tinh Provincial Sports Center, marking the end of the 9th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2025. Representing Phu Tho Province, Nguyen Duc Hau delivered an exceptional performance to win the gold medal in the 45 kg weight class, defeating a strong opponent from Indonesia in the final match.

At this year’s tournament, Phu Tho Pencak Silat had two athletes, Nguyen Duc Hau and Trinh Van Duong, along with coach Le Tien Tuan, selected for the Vietnam National Team. By the end of the competition, the host nation’s team secured an impressive tally of 17 gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze medals, finishing first overall.

The 2025 Championship took place from July 24 to 31, attracting nearly 400 athletes and coaches from 10 Asian countries: Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Laos, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
Competing against elite martial artists from across the continent, and achieving strong results, has given the Phu Tho athletes greater confidence and motivation to continue striving for success in future tournaments.
