On the morning of August 9, a working delegation led by Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo Member and Prime Minister, visited and worked in Phu Tho Province, inspecting the progress of several projects in the locality.

Prime Minister inspects VT369 foundation of the 500kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line project in Dan Chu Commune

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh directly inspected the construction site of the 500kV Lao Cai – Vinh Yen transmission line project in Thai Hoa and Dan Chu communes, Phu Tho Province. He listened to the project owner’s report on construction results and progress, and visited and encouraged the engineers and workers at the site.

At the VT404 foundation site in Thai Hoa Commune, the Prime Minister presented gifts to construction forces and commended the diligent work spirit of the workers, as well as the effective support and encouragement provided by the militia, veterans, police, and socio-political organizations such as the youth union and women’s union. The 98-meter-high VT404 tower, weighing 300 tons, has now been erected and work on stringing the power lines is underway.

Inspecting the VT369 foundation site in Dan Chu Commune — the tallest tower of the project crossing the Lo River, at 130 meters and 360 tons — the Prime Minister praised the proactive spirit, determination, and decisive action of the localities and forces involved in the project. He called on all stakeholders to maintain strong determination, make greater efforts, and act decisively to accelerate construction progress.

* Following the inspection, the Prime Minister held a working session with leaders of ministries, the Electricity of Vietnam Group (the project owner), contractors, and leaders of Lao Cai and Phu Tho provinces to address obstacles and reaffirm determination to complete the project as soon as possible.

Prime Minister surveys alignment of the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway section in Phu Tho Province

* The Prime Minister then surveyed the planned route of the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway section passing through Phu Tho Province.

Emphasizing the importance of land clearance, the Prime Minister requested Phu Tho Province and the project owner to ensure effective land clearance and resettlement, with priority for on-site resettlement. He stressed the need to provide infrastructure for resettlement areas in line with the development of more modern and civilized communities, and to flexibly apply social housing policies to ensure stable housing for affected households.

In addition, he called for coordination with ministries, sectors, and relevant units to review and plan railway stations, logistics centers, inland ports, and urban areas along the railway line. He urged the integration and efficient exploitation of the Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway and other national key projects in the province into the provincial master plan, to fully leverage local advantages and create new development space for Phu Tho as part of the northern midlands and mountainous region’s growth pole.

Prime Minister visits Phong Chau Bridge project and supports proposal for new transport route

* The Prime Minister also inspected the progress of the Phong Chau Bridge project and provided feedback on a proposal to construct a new road connecting Hoa Binh Ward (former Hoa Binh Province) with Viet Tri Ward (former Phu Tho Province).

At the center of the bridge, where units are working day and night on preparations for closure, on behalf of General Secretary To Lam and the Government, the Prime Minister praised and highly appreciated the dedication and sacrifice of engineers and workers for the people. He expressed hope that the units would maintain this spirit to ensure the project is completed on schedule and with high quality.

The Prime Minister also surveyed and expressed agreement with the proposal to build Vinh Lai Bridge and a 54-kilometer road linking Hoa Binh Ward (former Hoa Binh Province) with Viet Tri Ward (former Phu Tho Province).
