In recent years, with the guidance and support of provincial authorities, local districts in Phu Tho have focused on developing OCOP (One Commune One Product) products within the tourism sector. This initiative aims to increase value, unlock the potential and advantages of rural areas, and thereby improve the income and living standards of local residents.
By effectively leveraging local resources—such as natural landscapes, cultural heritage, traditional festivals, craft villages, and signature cuisine—tourism OCOP products have helped establish unique local identities. Developing this group not only creates jobs but also contributes to preserving traditional cultural values, raising environmental awareness, standardizing service quality, and enhancing the competitiveness of rural destinations throughout the province.

To boost the OCOP “Community Tourism Service - Tourist Destination” group, Phu Tho province has directed relevant departments to support localities in upgrading technical infrastructure and service quality. Consequently, numerous projects have been invested in, including ecological environment landscaping, community houses, and tourist consultation points that integrate OCOP product displays with community cultural activities.
Signage systems, directional boards, and tour maps for sightseeing routes are being gradually perfected. The province has also supported the Dao and Muong ethnic groups in building standardized homestay models to meet the increasing demand for experiential travel.

Furthermore, specialized agencies are providing guidance for households to link community tourism with eco-tourism. Annual training sessions on tourism professional skills, community business management, and folk art performances are organized for local residents.
OCOP community tourism products are also being aggressively promoted on digital platforms, social media, and at trade fairs. The Provincial Tourism Promotion Information Center has supported the development of websites and brand identities, linking destinations to the province’s official tourism portal.
Currently, the province has 4 OCOP products in the tourism service group, including three 3-star OCOP products: Hung Lo community tourism, Xuan Son community tourism (Xuan Dai Commune), and Da Bia community tourism (Tien Phong Commune); and one 4-star OCOP product, which is the Mo Village community tourism in Thung Nai Commun |
The Mo Village product is managed by the Mo Village Community Tourism Service Cooperative. Under local government management, the village has seen a transformation thanks to investments in transport infrastructure, parking lots, and bridges, alongside the vibrant activities of ethnic art troupes.
Mr. Dinh Van Dan, head of the Mo Village Cooperative, shared: "Developing community tourism has increased income for locals, especially ethnic minorities, while raising awareness about cultural preservation. In 2025, the average income reached over 41 million VND per person per year, and the village now has only four poor households remaining."
The province will continue to link OCOP products with tourist destinations, design tours associated with traditional craft villages, and apply digital technology in management and promotion. This strategy aims to turn tourism into a key driver for socio-economic development and sustainable new rural construction.
