Promoting the strengths of the basic industry

The chemical industry is seen as a basic industry, contributing significantly to the country’s industrialization and modernization. The province’s chemical sector is relatively broad, with major production categories including basic chemicals, consumer chemicals, fertilizers, and medicinal chemicals.

Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company is constantly introducing new fertilizer products to the market with the goal of increasing organic agriculture and green agriculture.

The province contains over 200 chemical-related companies, including 7 chemical manufacturing enterprises, 26 industrial chemical enterprises, and more than 100 firms that use chemicals as raw materials in industrial production operations...

The province’s chemical sector continues to produce conventional goods while also studying ways to generate high-tech chemical products and chemicals to meet the demands of other industries such as medicines and food. Following the trend of growing the chemical industry using contemporary technology in order to achieve green growth and a circular economy, many enterprises in the province have aggressively developed technology, upgraded equipment, and other safety and environmental protection measures. At the same time, focus on implementing issues, projects, and producing new goods in response to market demands.

Viet Tri Chemical Joint Stock Company focuses on producing basic chemicals. In 2023, the company will produce over 56,000 tones of caustic soda, almost 123,000 tons of hydrochloric acid, over 4,600 tons of liquid chlorine, and 41,200 tons of javelin... Last year, the company invested in a disinfectant production line for water sources used in daily life and aquaculture using domestically available raw materials. The line has a capacity of 9,000 tons/year, or 30 tons/day, and will be operational in the second quarter of 2024. The line adds closure to production, expands the capacity of the caustic soda manufacturing line, and improves production and business efficiency.

Mr. Dao Hai Linh, the firm’s Deputy General Director, stated: "The firm concentrates on investing in technical innovation, using sophisticated and contemporary science to manufacturing lines; applying ISO-compliant quality management systems as well as quality productivity improvement strategies such as 5S and Kaizen, which contribute to increased labor productivity and lower attrition rates. The firm continues to conduct research in order to invest in and develop chemical goods with advanced technology and ecologically friendly components."

Many goods with potential and comparative advantages in the chemical sector are still being technologically advanced, enhancing product quality toward green chemistry and clean organic fertilizers fit for agricultural purposes.

Lam Thao Super Phosphate and Chemical Joint Stock Company produces and trades fertilizers and chemicals. In 2023, the Company’s total fertilizer output will exceed 795,000 tons, with sulfuric acid exceeding 136,300 tons. Mr. Tran Dai Nghia, Deputy General Director of the Company, stated: “”The Company’s goal is to maintain and develop traditional products, research and apply advanced and modern science and technology, and develop products." In accordance with current trends, the Company will continue to expand, invest, and develop additional production and commercial areas in which it has an advantage. Recognizing the importance of environmental protection in production and business, the company has recently invested in projects such as automatic emission monitoring systems, wastewater recovery treatment systems for reuse, and strict management of occupational safety and hygiene, as well as fire and explosion prevention.

Plan No. 4602/KH-UBND dated November 15, 2022 of the Provincial People’s Committee on developing the chemical industry of Phu Tho province in the period 2021-2030, oriented to 2040, establishing the goal of developing the chemical industry focused on quality, sustainable development, and modern and environmentally friendly technology; in particular, we must create products with potential, advantages, and competitiveness. Chemical products for industry, industrial gases, chemical goods for agricultural production (primarily fertilizers), medicinal chemical products, electrochemical products, and consumer chemical products are all sub-sectors with unique strategies and goals for each stage. To effectively execute the plan’s contents, synchronous solutions are provided, which include mechanisms and policies, science and technology, human resources and human resource training, and the environment.

Effective solution implementation will contribute to the chemical sector’s development, new investment, modernization, and continued role as a significant industry in the province.
