The 15th Provincial Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front delegates, term of 2024-2029 successfully wraps up

The 15th Provincial Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front delegates, term of 2024-2029 held its second session on June 26 at the Provincial Convention Center.

To congratulate the Congress, Standing Members of the Provincial Party Committee delivered a banner with the phrases “Solidarity - democracy - creativity - development” on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, and People’s Committee.

During the 2019-2024 term, the Fatherland Front Committee at all levels, as well as member organizations, worked to serve as a bridge between the Party, the government, and the people; they were led and directed to achieve and exceed 6/6 major targets set by the 14th Provincial Fatherland Front Congress, term 2019-2024. The task of promotion, mobilization, and consolidation of the great national unity has been revived; enhance the role of exceptional individuals and respectable people among ethnic and religious groups in the establishment and consolidation of the great national unity. Throughout the period, officials, union members, members, and people from all walks of life eagerly competed and participated in patriotic campaigns and activities, particularly the campaign “All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized cities”.

The Fatherland Front at all levels and member organizations have mobilized people to donate over 4 million square meters of land and assets on land, as well as over VND368.5 billion and 570,538 working days to expand the campus, purchase equipment for residential cultural houses, sports playgrounds, and embellish cultural relics to serve the New Rural Construction Program locally.

The Fatherland Front at all levels, as well as member organizations, have received and mobilized about VND160.8 billion in support of the “For the Poor” Fund and the Social Security Program, which will help build and repair 2,152 dwellings. Great solidarity worth VND57.1 billion; helping production growth, medical examination and treatment, and impoverished students overcoming challenges for 9.26 persons, valued at approximately VND5 billion; supported over VND75.5 billion to establish social security initiatives in the province, helping to reduce the province’s poverty rate to 4.44%. In addition, organized and supported the construction of 51 Great Solidarity residences for impoverished households in Dien Bien province, as well as the donation of 430 presents totaling VND559 million to families of heroic martyrs and soldiers of Dien Bien on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu triumph.

Throughout the period, the Fatherland Front at all levels has emphasized the power of the vast solidarity bloc, mobilized assistance, and overcome the impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic, receiving VND119 billion and a variety of supplies, medical equipment, and other necessary. In particular, the Fatherland Front at all levels actively and successfully participated in the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Council deputies at all levels for the 2021-2026 term, ensuring democracy, adhering to regulations, and achieving a high voter participation rate of 99.8%.

Supervision and social criticism activities have been successfully promoted. During the term, 6,529 supervisions were conducted, and 1,228 direct supervision teams were established; 295 instances of supervision involved reviewing and studying documents; and coordination of supervision with the Standing Committee of the People’s Council, committees of the People’s Council, and socio-political organizations at the same level. The Fatherland Front has worked together to effectively organize 1,655 dialogues between Party Committee heads, authorities, and the people, resolving difficulties, alleviating frustrations, and contributing to socioeconomic development while maintaining local security and order stability.

At the Congress, participants concentrated on debating and offering suggestions for further developing the substance of operational procedures in order to establish a powerful Fatherland Front. The Congress debated and agreed on the aims, contents, and solutions for the 15th Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front’s action program, which runs from 2024 to 2029.

Accordingly, the Provincial Fatherland Front identified three breakthrough stages: Promoting democracy, improving the quality of supervision and social criticism activities, participating in building a clean and strong Party and government; Strengthening the mobilization of resources and financial support to complete the construction of “Great Solidarity” houses for poor households in the area; and mobilizing people to build “self-governing, united, prosperous, and happy” residents.

Speaking to the Congress, Comrade Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee praised and acknowledged the Fatherland Front’s recent achievements at all levels in the province. He stated that the accomplished outcomes have helped to consolidate, develop, and promote the strength of the great national unity bloc, as well as to establish a “strong people’s heart position” and inspire people from all walks of life. The people unite and join forces with the province’s Party Committee, authorities, and military forces to seize chances and advantages, overcome problems and challenges, and strive for significant and comprehensive successes in all aspects.

In the spirit of democracy and transparency, the Congress agreed to discuss and elect 83 members of the 15th Provincial Fatherland Front Committee for the term 2024-2029.

At the inaugural meeting, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, term XV, 2024-2029, discussed nominations for places on the Standing Committee of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, term XV. Mr. Nguyen Hai, a member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee for term XIV, has been selected as Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee for term XV.

Members of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee term XIV who did not continue to participate in the term XV were given goodbye flowers by the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee leaders.

The Congress also agreed to send a delegation to the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, period 2024-2029; to give farewell to members of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, term XIV; and to discontinue participation in the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, term XV.
