The Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024 is approaching, on the streets, there are bustling streams of people as if racing against time to end the old year and welcome the new year. This is also the time when manufacturers and distributors introduce a series of products to the market to serve people’s shopping needs.
At shopping centers, supermarkets, shops, and traditional markets, goods are overflowing and colorful, in which, happily, Vietnamese merchandises still maintain their position with consumers.
As the main enterprise distributing Vietnamese goods to consumers during the Lunar New Year, Co.opmart Viet Tri Supermarket has increased its product volume by 2-3 times compared to normal business months. All goods selected for enterprises must ensure quality, source and origin according to regulations.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hien - Deputy Director of the Supermarket said: "Currently at the Supermarket, over 90% of the product structure is domestically produced goods, especially at this time confectionery and beverage brands. are widely sold with famous brands such as: Bibica, Huu Nghi, Trang An, Kinh Do, Vissan, Hai Ha... Vietnamese branded products are given priority and arranged in easy-to-see display positions, easy to choose, creating conditions for Vietnamese brands to have the opportunity to develop and get closer to consumers. Particularly in Phu Tho province, Supermarket has also coordinated with the Department of Industry and Trade to connect enterprises, cooperatives putting products into consumption in the system, especially specialty products with regional characteristics such as: Thanh Son sour meat, Hung Lo rice noodles, Tu Xa safe vegetables, Doan Hung grapefruit, etc."
It is known that before the Lunar New Year, the year of Dragon 2024, the supermarket has worked with suppliers to ensure stable supply and prices, avoiding shortages leading to sudden price increases and supply disruptions. At the same time, the Supermarket offers promotional programs with many incentives, helping customers save spending and stimulate consumption in the context of people’s income decreasing due to the difficult economy.
Not only supermarkets, in recent years, goods at traditional markets have improved significantly, especially Vietnamese goods that have gradually built a foothold in this distribution channel. Goods are more diverse and abundant, with competitive prices, especially for essential consumer goods.
Not only are Vietnamese brands taking the throne, this year’s Tet goods market is also rich thanks to the presence of specialty product lines with regional characteristics as the trend of favoring “countryside products” is increasing. In the province, there are currently 235 OCOP products rated three stars or higher with 158 entities being businesses, cooperatives, production facilities, and business households of 125/225 communes, wards, and towns. During the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024, in addition to promoting production, entities also boldly promote and market products in the form of OCOP gift baskets to reach the market, competing with Tet gift baskets of other traditional, branded brands.
It can be seen that changes in consumers' psychology and habits of using products and goods produced by Vietnamese enterprises to replace foreign products are important factors, contributing to bringing Vietnamese goods to a new position, promoting the development of trade and service activities, gradually narrowing the gap between rural and urban areas.
