The sumary conference of The eight expanding Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City cooperation program

On December 25, a conference was held in Lao Cai province to summarize the tourist cooperation development agenda of eight expanding Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City in 2023.

Mr. Ho Dai Dung - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee - was on the side of Phu Tho province.

Leaders of the Provincial People’s Committee, Tourism Department, Culture - Sports and Tourism Department from the provinces of Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, and Ho City Chi Minh.

The cooperation group organized 25/25 scheduled events in 2023, completing 100% of the year’s goal. The Cooperation Group’s member provinces and cities have closely coordinated and implemented many effective activities, such as: organizing a series of Northwest Elite Festival events in Ho Chi Minh City; expanding Northwest Cultural Tourism Week in Can Tho City, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hanoi City; surveying and exploiting new tourism products along the Northwest arc route, such as “Journey connecting the Northwest national terraced rice heritage region” - The narrative of the brocade weaver between the Northwest sky and land and “The Majestic Northwest” - Along the Da River to come the land of memories... The Ho Chi Minh City Culture - tourist Week is a tourist marketing event in the first international market organized by the Cooperation Group in Luang - Pha - Bang province (Laos). Total tourist arrivals to the eight TBMR provinces and Ho Chi Minh City totaled 69.2 million (more than 105% of the year’s plan), a 27.5% increase over 2022, accounting for almost 57.4% of all tourists to Vietnam.

In 2024, Lao Cai province gave up leadership of the tourist development cooperation group of eight growing Northwest provinces and Ho Chi Minh City to Phu Tho province.

During the conference, Lao Cai province handed over the job of Head of the Cooperation Group for Tourism Development in 8 TBMR Provinces and Ho Chi Minh City in 2024 to Phu Tho Province - Head of the Cooperation Group in 2024 to Phu Tho Province.
