The Phu Tho swimming team sent four young athletes to this year’s tournament, competing across various age categories. However, Nguyen Hoang Linh was the standout performer - maintaining exceptional form and securing eight gold medals in her strongest events, including the 50m, 100m, 200m, and 400m freestyle; 50m and 100m butterfly; 100m backstroke; and 200m individual medley - all in the 12-13 age group. She also earned a silver medal in the 50m backstroke.
Young swimmer Nguyen Hoang Linh continues to shine at this year’s national championship.
The 2025 National Youth Swimming and Diving Championship was held in Da Nang City from July 5-15, attracting more than 400 athletes from over 30 delegations representing provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide. Despite stiff competition from top-tier training centers and sports delegations - such as the Army, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and host Da Nang - Hoang Linh achieved her goal of medaling in all nine events.
Earlier, at the end of June, Nguyen Hoang Linh also made her mark at the 2025 Southeast Asian Age Group Swimming Championship, winning two golds, three silvers, and two bronzes. These remarkable achievements have boosted confidence for the 12-year-old swimmer - as she sets her sights on new milestones with the Vietnam Youth Team and Boi Dat To in the years to come.
