Busily dragging fish net in Spring days
On the occasion of New Year 2024, residents of Ta Xa commune, Cam Khe district, hosted a fish net dragging event at Trung Khe field, which is part of the commune’s aquaculture project.

Normally, the field area conducts a fishing pond service company, and at the end of the year, during Tet, they pump water and harvest fish before returning the fields to the people for agriculture.
Because the lake is huge, the fish are massive; many of them weigh between 7 and 10 kilograms, therefore the harvest session draws a large crowd to help pull the fish and support.
Some pulled the net while others removed the pegs. In less than an hour, more than a dozen muscular men had brought the net back to shore.
When they saw large nets and full fish, the typically calm countryside became busy with laughing and joy from the participants.
It is reported that once the fish was dragged up, traders and consumers ordered practically all of it. The total amount of fish captured was around one ton, yielding approximately 200 million VND.
Mr. Mai Tien Duong, Chairman of the Ta Xa Commune People’s Committee, stated that while the commune’s residents mostly work in agriculture, the poverty rate remains high. The model of one rice crop and one fish crop is highly cost effective and may be duplicated in other fields if appropriate. Not only does it benefit the economy, but the model also serves to link the community, providing a cheerful and exciting mood for people on harvest day.
