Car wash on the 29th of Tet: People wait 2 hours for their turn

On the last day of the year, the demand for motorbike and car washing in the province surged 2 to 3 times higher than usual, forcing car wash shops to operate at full capacity to serve customers. Particularly for car washing services, many customers had to wait 1 to 2 hours for their turn.

In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, motorbike washing services across the province remained crowded and busy from early morning until late evening.

At a car wash shop in Lam Thao District, the number of customers skyrocketed, keeping employees working non-stop from morning until late at night.

Mr. Duc Tho, who works at a car wash shop in Lam Thao District, shared that the number of customers at the end of the year was 2 to 3 times higher than on regular days. As a result, four more employees were assigned to handle motorbike washing, and the service price increased by 5%.

Motorbike Washes Require a 15-30 Minute Wait on the 29th of Tet

According to reports, the demand for vehicle washing began surging on the 26th day of the lunar calendar.

For motorbike washing services, customers had to wait between 15 to 30 minutes. Meanwhile, car wash areas remained bustling and crowded as well.

Most shops in Viet Tri City increased their car washing service prices, yet they were still overloaded, forcing customers to line up and wait for their turn.

Although car wash prices fluctuated, other services such as oil changes, polishing, and interior cleaning remained at the same rates.

Mr. Vinh, owner of Car Center 19 in Viet Tri City, shared: “I have five employees working continuously from 5 AM to 5 PM, but there are still backlogs. Washing one car takes about 30 minutes, so customers must wait 1 to 2 hours to get their vehicle back.”

During the days leading up to Tet, each car wash facility cleans around 30 to 40 vehicles per day, with service prices averaging 100,000 VND per car.

According to car wash business owners in Viet Tri City, the days before Tet are considered the “golden week” of the year, as the vehicle washing demand significantly boosts their income.
