Phu Tho Expands Cooperation with South Korean Enterprises in Environmental

On August 19, the Provincial Investment Promotion and Business Support Center organized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with Advanced Water Technology Co., Ltd. (South Korea) regarding cooperation in researching, surveying, and promoting the implementation of an activated carbon filter core, water environment, and energy project in the province. Attending the ceremony was Comrade Nguyen Khac Hieu — Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee (PPC); alongside leadership representatives from several provincial departments, boards, and sectors.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, PPC Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Hieu highlighted Phu Tho Province’s potential, competitive advantages, and investment attraction orientations. He noted that South Korea is one of the province’s vital investment partners, ranking first in the number of projects with 396 projects and a total investment capital of approximately USD 5.65 billion.

Phu Tho prioritizes attracting high-tech, clean industry, clean energy, environmental protection, circular economy, and efficient resource utilization projects. The province commits to creating favorable conditions for investors — including South Korean enterprises — to conduct surveys, perform research, and propose projects aligned with provincial planning and development orientations.

PPC Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Hieu assigned the Provincial Industrial Zones Management Board and the Provincial Investment Promotion and Business Support Center to step up guidance for the enterprise in carrying out investment procedures; and within their authority, proactively coordinate and promptly resolve difficulties and bottlenecks arising during project research and implementation.

Phu Tho Province expects that, if deployed, the projects of Advanced Water Technology Co., Ltd. will not only deliver economic efficiency for the enterprise, but also contribute to environmental improvement, clean energy development, efficient resource utilization, and circular economy promotion.

Under the signed MoU, the Provincial Investment Promotion and Business Support Center and Advanced Water Technology Co., Ltd. will coordinate to research, survey, propose, and promote the execution of the activated carbon filter core, water environment, and energy project, ensuring compliance with the province’s socio-economic development plan and Vietnamese legal regulations.

The Provincial Investment Promotion and Business Support Center will accompany the enterprise through field surveys, research, and project investment execution; while assisting with access to provincial information, regulations, mechanisms, and policies. Advanced Water Technology Co., Ltd. will conduct research, surveys, and complete statutory investment procedures, ensuring the project’s feasibility and effectiveness.

The MoU signing marks an important initial step, contributing to strengthening cooperation between Phu Tho Province and South Korean enterprises; while opening up opportunities to research and execute projects in environmental protection, clean energy, and circular economy fields across the province.
