The Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee has approved the investment policy for a project to renovate and upgrade 10 water reservoirs across the province, with a total investment of nearly VND300 billion. The project aims to ensure the safety of the facilities, improve water regulation capacity and proactively secure irrigation water for approximately 1,839 hectares of agricultural land.
According to Decision No. 2615 dated August 9, 2026, issued by the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee, the project has a total investment of nearly VND300 billion, funded by the province’s medium-term public investment budget for the 2026–2030 period. The capital is to be allocated over a period of no more than four years.

Phuong Mao Reservoir in Tu Vu Commune.
The 10 reservoirs to be renovated and upgraded are Ham Ky in Hien Luong Commune; Cua Hoang in Van Lang Commune; Cay Quan in Dan Thuong Commune; Phuong Mao in Tu Vu Commune; Suoi Dung in Yen Son Commune; Nui Chua and Go Cao in Doan Hung Commune; Xuan Son in Xuan Dai Commune; and Tha Hua and Suoi Lo in Lai Dong Commune.
The project focuses on addressing deteriorated components, including waterproofing dam bodies; repairing and rebuilding spillways and water intake structures; adding earth fill to reinforce and expand dam crests; and upgrading roads serving management and operation activities. The reservoirs will also be equipped with monitoring, warning and disaster response systems.
Upon completion, the project will proactively provide irrigation water for approximately 1,839 hectares of agricultural land, improve irrigation capacity, support agricultural production, facilitate crop restructuring and the development of concentrated production areas, and increase the value generated from cultivated land.
The renovation and upgrading of the reservoirs will also contribute to ensuring dam safety, reducing risks to downstream areas and strengthening water security. At the same time, the facilities will create conditions for the development of multi-purpose economic activities such as aquaculture and ecological environmental protection, contributing to agricultural and rural development and improving local residents’ living standards.
