Faced with the increasing demand for electricity in production and daily life, Phu Tho Province has identified a stable power supply as a key factor in achieving its 2026 growth targets. Consequently, the province is focusing on resolving difficulties and accelerating the progress of key power projects to strengthen energy security.

Key power projects in the province are being urgently implemented to ensure they come into operation on schedule.
Currently, the province is deploying five key power projects, including: the 220kV Viet Tri - Tam Duong - Ba Thien transmission line; the 500kV line connecting to the 500kV Vinh Yen substation; the 500/220kV Nho Quan - Phu Ly - Thuong Tin line; the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen line; and the 110kV outgoing line from the 220kV Ba Thien substation. These are vital energy infrastructure works, significant not only for Phu Tho Province but also for the entire Northern power system.
However, many projects are still facing obstacles in site clearance. The 220kV Viet Tri - Tam Duong - Ba Thien project has several tower foundations and tension sections that have not yet been handed over. The 500kV line connecting to the Vinh Yen substation is also facing difficulties at shared-tower locations due to land disputes and a lack of consensus on compensation. Meanwhile, the 500kV Lao Cai - Vinh Yen project has finished construction but remains hindered by issues regarding transmission corridors, resettlement, and land overlapping.

Binh Tuyen Commune implements various solutions to resolve site clearance difficulties for local power projects.
Despite their importance, several projects still face delays due to site clearance issues. Common obstacles include incomplete land records related to inheritance or land-use conversion, slow resettlement procedures, and a lack of consensus among some households regarding compensation plans. In some areas, illegal constructions post-July 1, 2014, and unresolved transmission corridors have also hindered the power energization schedule.
In response, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Duy Dong, has directly presided over numerous meetings to review progress. He emphasized that these projects involve extensive site clearance across multiple localities. While some districts have been proactive, the overall pace has not yet met requirements, particularly in communes like Binh Tuyen, Lac Thuy, Tam Dao, and Tam Son.
The Chairman requested commune authorities to urgently approve compensation plans for eligible cases and finalize dossiers for enforcement or construction protection with specific timelines. Heads of local authorities will be held accountable if they fail to meet the committed milestones.
In Binh Tuyen Commune—one of the areas with significant bottlenecks—local authorities are prioritizing public advocacy. Working groups have been dispatched to meet with individual households to explain the projects' importance to socio-economic development and long-term citizen benefits. Simultaneously, the commune is coordinating with specialized agencies to verify land origins and finalize compensation procedures.

With high determination to remove bottlenecks, key power projects in Binh Tuyen are being accelerated.
For households that have not yet accepted compensation, the commune organizes direct dialogues to listen to their concerns and provide timely solutions within its jurisdiction.
To date, significant progress has been recorded. For the 500kV line connecting to the Vinh Yen substation and the 220kV Viet Tri - Tam Duong - Ba Thien line, stringing has been completed for all 36/36 conductors and 2/2 fiber optic cables. Notably, site clearance for the 110kV outgoing line from the 220kV Ba Thien substation is 100% complete, with all compensation paid, making it ready for connection.
With drastic leadership and the synchronized involvement of all sectors, Phu Tho is showing high determination to remove “bottlenecks” and speed up construction. Completing these projects will not only ensure a stable power supply but also create a solid energy foundation to serve the province’s rapid and sustainable growth goals.
