On October 24, Mr. Dinh Cong Su – Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee – conducted a field inspection and held a working session on the current situation and development orientation of the Doan Hung pomelo production area in Bang Luan Commune.

Vice Chairman Dinh Cong Su delivers instructions at the working session.
According to the report by the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the total pomelo cultivation area currently covers 2,706.2 hectares, including 860 hectares in Bang Luan, 720 hectares in Tay Coc, 543.2 hectares in Chi Dam, 427.8 hectares in Chan Mong, and 155.2 hectares in Doan Hung.
During the meeting, delegates discussed key issues related to the development of the Doan Hung pomelo region, such as: maintaining the existing cultivation area while improving product quality and appearance, particularly for the signature Doan Hung pomelo varieties; enhancing the production capacity of enterprises and cooperatives specializing in citrus; expanding safe production zones with official growing-area codes; increasing the proportion of products undergoing preliminary processing and packaging; and promoting mechanization and the application of science and technology to ensure consistent quality standards for both domestic and export markets.
Concluding the session, Vice Chairman Dinh Cong Su acknowledged the efforts of local authorities and farmers in preserving and promoting the Doan Hung pomelo brand – a high-value agricultural product that has become a main source of income for many households.
To ensure the effective and sustainable development of the Doan Hung pomelo production area in the coming period, the Vice Chairman requested localities to restructure the cultivation zones toward concentration and high technology, aligned with VietGAP and organic standards. He also emphasized the need to strengthen linkages between farmers, cooperatives, and enterprises to establish a sustainable value chain, while accelerating digital transformation in traceability systems to enhance the product’s market value.
