Phu Tho, the ancestral heartland of the Vietnamese nation, has long been regarded as the cradle of the country’s unique historical and cultural values. Beyond preserving precious heritages from the Hung Kings era, this land serves as a confluence of diverse cultural streams, forging a distinct identity for the people of the Ancestral Land: patriotic, unified, grateful, and driven by an aspiration for progress.

Identity-rich cultural and artistic activities are organized to enhance the spiritual life of the local people.
As the nation enters a new developmental phase, developing the people of the Ancestral Land in accordance with the Vietnamese value standards of “patriotism, unity, self-reliance, and responsibility” has become a pivotal task. This mission is closely aligned with the implementation of Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, issued by the Politburo on January 7, 2026, regarding the development of Vietnamese culture.
A Convergence of Cultural Currents Phu Tho’s cultural space is a unique intersection of three major currents: the ancestral culture of the Hung Kings era; the festive and traditional craft village culture of the Vinh Phuc region; and the world-renowned prehistoric "Hoa Binh Culture.“This convergence has cultivated a profound spiritual foundation, shaping the quintessential qualities of its people: a deep-seated patriotism rooted in the”when drinking water, remember its source" tradition, community solidarity, the resilient will of midland and mountain residents, and a high sense of responsibility in promoting ancestral values.
Today, Phu Tho is home to 33 ethnic groups, with ethnic minorities making up over 25% of the population. This diversity nurtures sustainable humanistic values, providing the bedrock for the comprehensive development of Phu Tho’s citizens in the modern era. |
Internal Resources for Sustainable Development According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Linh Ngoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the province has successfully mobilized the entire political system and the enthusiastic participation of all social classes to build a healthy social environment. Movements such as “All People Unite to Build a Cultural Life” have been implemented extensively.

The organization of traditional festivals evokes a sense of pride in the national cultural beauty among the people of the Ancestral Land.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong, a resident of Viet Tri City, shared: "We take immense pride in living in the nation’s ancestral land. Cultural activities and festivals do more than teach us history; they foster community bonds. Every citizen is conscious of maintaining a civilized lifestyle and remaining responsible to their homeland."
In this new period, Phu Tho identifies its people and culture as crucial endogenous resources. By linking cultural preservation with sustainable tourism, the province not only promotes its image but also drives socio-economic momentum.
Fostering the New Vietnamese Persona In line with Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW, the focus is on developing comprehensive individuals across four pillars: Virtue, Intellect, Physicality, and Aesthetics (De - Tri - The - My), with character-building as the core anchor.
The key tasks include: Prioritizing ethics and culture within schools, starting from the preschool level; establishing a close coordination mechanism between family, school, and society to cultivate a younger generation oriented toward the values of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty (Chân - Thiện - Mỹ) and a scientific worldview. It is also essential to synchronously implement systems of cultural, national, and family values, alongside individual standards of patriotism, self-reliance, responsibility, and creativity. The ultimate goal is to seamlessly blend tradition with modernity, forging a steadfast national character in the new era.
Phu Tho continues to place human development at the center of its strategic growth. Within its image communication project, the province focuses on portraying Phu Tho residents as "grateful, hospitable, industrious, and creative.“The ultimate goal is to radiate the image of”civilized and friendly citizens who converge cultural quintessence and achieve creative breakthroughs in economy and investment."
Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW is opening significant opportunities to further promote ancestral values. From a thousand-year history to today’s powerful transformation, Phu Tho is asserting its position as a land of rich identity and developmental aspiration, ready to step firmly into a new era of national prosperity.
