Addressing employment for workers is recognized as an important political task that contributes to sustainable poverty reduction, ensures social security, and promotes economic growth. Therefore, since the beginning of the year, various levels and sectors in the province have effectively implemented many solutions to create new jobs for workers, such as: enhancing investment attraction, facilitating businesses to expand their production and business scale; focusing on developing a flexible, integrated, modern, efficient, and sustainable labor market.
Since the beginning of the year, the operational situation of enterprises in the province has been relatively stable. The production and business activities of enterprises have not seen many fluctuations, with an increasingly expanding scale, generating significant revenue and export value. Some foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises in electronics, electronic component manufacturing, and cable assembly have a large demand for recruitment.
Mr. Nguyen Hien Ngoc - Head of the Employment and Occupational Safety Department (Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs) stated: "Generally, enterprises in the province are stable with little fluctuation in the number of employees. The demand for new recruitment is not high, primarily hiring additional workers to serve the expansion of production lines and increase the volume of goods. A small number is to supplement the workforce due to former employees leaving. On the other hand, newly established enterprises have a demand for recruitment. Through surveys and understanding the situation in the province, in the first 9 months of 2024, enterprises have recruited approximately 7,000 workers, mainly in the electronics and garment sectors."
In order to enhance job creation for workers, the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs has directed the Employment Service - Vocational Education Center to actively connect labor market information, improve the efficiency of job exchange platforms with a more diverse and rich quantity and format. Since the beginning of the year, the Center has provided counseling for nearly 35,000 people, introducing domestic job opportunities for nearly 3,800 individuals. Additionally, the Department has coordinated with the Provincial Police and the Provincial Youth Union to organize career counseling and job introduction programs for 186 youth members, including non-commissioned officers and soldiers who have completed their service in the People’s Public Security Force.
With many positive solutions, the employment creation efforts for workers in the province have achieved significant results. The number of workers gaining new employment has increased considerably, especially in industrial zones and industrial complexes. Many support employment and vocational training programs have been implemented, helping workers enhance their skills to meet the labor market’s demands. In the first 9 months of the year, over 14,600 workers found new employment, reaching 88% of the annual plan. The province has provided loans for 221 projects from the National Employment Fund, thereby creating, maintaining, and expanding jobs for 232 workers. The loan turnover has reached over 12.3 billion VND, bringing the total outstanding loans by the end of September 2024 to over 72.7 billion VND.
To achieve the goal of creating jobs for workers, in the last 3 months of 2024, the Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs will continue to collaborate with various departments, sectors, and localities to intensify communication and disseminate new regulations and policies regarding labor, employment, labor market information, and the recruitment needs of enterprises; effectively implement support policies for training and job creation; focus on creating local employment through socio-economic development programs. At the same time, innovate and improve the quality of human resource training in key sectors and professions of the province; enhance collaboration with enterprises to provide vocational training linked to job creation.
