Investment promotion trips stretching from Hangzhou, Beijing, and Shanghai to Shenzhen; international business matching forums hosted right in the Ancestral Land; and high-level meetings between provincial leaders and foreign corporations and investors... are sketching a new face for Phu Tho’s foreign affairs. No longer confined to mere image promotion or relationship building, diplomatic activities today serve as a gateway bringing international capital, technology, knowledge, and collaborative opportunities closer to the locality. From these connections, Phu Tho is step-by-step transforming integration advantages into development resources, expanding its growth space, and elevating its position on both the domestic and international investment maps.

Delegates visit the corporate product exhibition and showcase booths at the “Meet Thailand in Phu Tho 2026” Program.
From Connection to Opportunity
A standout highlight in Phu Tho’s approach is shifting from waiting for investors to come, to proactively bringing the province’s image, potential, and investment opportunities to major economic hubs in the region. In the first half of 2026, the province successfully organized numerous domestic and international investment promotion conferences, alongside symposia, receptions, and working sessions with various international investors and businesses to introduce its investment environment and explore cooperative opportunities.
Parallel to overseas promotion activities, the province has been actively expanding its network of international partners right on its home turf. Major conglomerates and enterprises such as Sumitomo, Amata, Toyota, Balcom, TCC, and YCH Singapore have held working sessions to explore the province’s investment environment. Additionally, Phu Tho has welcomed multiple business delegations from South Korea, Mongolia, Spain, Finland, Sweden, and various other countries conducting surveys for collaboration. The increasing number of international enterprises choosing Phu Tho to explore investment opportunities reflects the rising attractiveness of its investment climate, while affirming the effectiveness of its proactive and open diplomatic strategy.
To swiftly translate connections into investment decisions, Phu Tho has not only “opened its doors” through promotional activities but has also persistently improved its investment environment. Mechanisms such as the “24-Hour Green Lane”, “50% Green Lane”, along with the “Entrepreneur Coffee” model have been deployed to shorten administrative procedures, enhance dialogue, and accompany businesses. This very proactivity has helped solidify the confidence of the investor community, creating a competitive edge for the province in attracting international capital flows.
A prominent milestone of these foreign affairs activities was the “Meet Thailand in Phu Tho 2026” Program. Attended by more than 400 delegates—including 142 from Thailand and nearly 20 major associations, conglomerates, and enterprises—the program contributed to concrete steps in the Vietnam - Thailand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, while opening a direct networking forum between the two business communities to build a foundation for future cooperative projects.
Speaking at the program, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duy Dong asserted that the “Meet Thailand in Phu Tho 2026” Program demonstrates the province’s determination to accelerate foreign affairs and international integration, viewing this as a vital driving force to realize the goal of becoming a growth pole of the Capital Region. According to the Chairman, Phu Tho will focus on achieving breakthroughs in institutions, infrastructure, science and technology, innovation, and human resources to attract high-quality investment projects, progressively enhancing the province’s competitiveness and standing in the integration process.
This message also reveals that international cooperation for Phu Tho aims not only to secure additional investment capital but also to gain access to modern technology, advanced management methodologies, and global value chains. From today’s meetings and connections, Phu Tho is gradually laying the groundwork for a more open development space in the future.
Paving the Way for Growth
Phu Tho’s efforts to expand international cooperation are gradually yielding concrete results in investment attraction and socio-economic development. Foreign affairs have become a vital channel for drawing resources, widening growth margins, and upgrading local competitiveness.
The first half of 2026 recorded a breakthrough in the province’s investment attraction. Total Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) reached approximately 1.77 billion USD, equivalent to 110.2% of the annual plan, alongside 2,800 newly established enterprises and a series of large-scale projects breaking ground. These figures do not merely reflect the appeal of the investment climate, but are the fruits of persistent efforts to expand international relations, proactively approach strategic investors, and continuously refine the business environment.
Notably, Phu Tho does not pursue investment attraction at all costs; instead, it selectively targets high-tech, high-value-added, and eco-friendly projects. The strategic priority given to electronics, semiconductors, supporting industries, and clean energy, coupled with synchronized infrastructure investment in industrial parks, underscores the province’s long-term development vision. This alignment matches the global supply chain shift, positioning Phu Tho to integrate deeper into international production networks rather than remaining a mere destination for processing and assembly projects.
Telling signs have already emerged. The groundbreaking of the Meiko Yen Quang electronics and microcircuit manufacturing plant, alongside the implementation of industrial parks like Phuc Yen and Doan Hung, not only injects investment capital but also elevates industrial production capacity, generates employment, draws satellite businesses, and shapes new manufacturing alliance chains.
Far beyond investment figures, what Phu Tho is gaining is a significantly broader development space. Each international cooperation program opens up an additional market; each foreign investor brings not just a project, but also technology, modern governance methods, partner networks, and opportunities for local businesses to step deeper into global value chains.
Evidently, expanding international cooperation is no longer an exclusive goal of diplomatic work but has become an integral pillar of the province’s development strategy. As each investment promotion trip unlocks a new collaborative opportunity, each business meeting generates a new connection channel, and each FDI project helps forge new growth poles, Phu Tho’s development space is being broadened in scale, quality, and status. This serves as the foundation for the province to keep drawing strategic investors, catch high-quality capital flows, and assert its position as a dynamic, integration-proactive locality in the new era of development.
