The year 2026 holds special significance for the development of the country in general and Phu Tho province in particular. This year features the 14th National Party Congress, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure, and marks the inaugural year of the Socio-Economic Development Plan for 2026–2030. In this context, innovating the growth model toward a rapid, sustainable, and efficient direction is identified as a central, consistent task, decisive to the achievement of the province’s developmental goals.
Toyota Boshoku Hanoi Co., Ltd. provides stable jobs for over 1,000 workers, with an average income of 11 million VND per month.
In 2025, despite numerous difficulties and challenges, Phu Tho achieved positive and comprehensive results. The economic growth rate reached 10.52%, exceeding the Government’s target (10%) and ranking highest in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. State budget revenue is estimated at 57,400 billion VND. Socio-cultural fields and social welfare were prioritized; national defense and security were maintained; and significant progress was made in administrative reform, digital transformation, and investment attraction.
For 2026, the domestic socio-political situation is forecast to remain stable, with major Party and State policies implemented synchronously and effectively. For Phu Tho, the expansion of development space, combined with the high determination of the entire political system to implement the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, provides a vital foundation.
However, the international context remains complex with fierce strategic and trade competition. Non-traditional security challenges—such as natural disasters, climate change, epidemics, and cybersecurity—continue to exert pressure on economic stability and sustainable development. Locally, the province must simultaneously resolve long-standing economic issues while proactively responding to new emerging problems. This reality demands a renewal of thinking, innovative methods, and the accurate selection of new growth drivers.
Phu Tho has identified its general objective for 2026 as effectively exploiting potential, advantages, and resources for growth. The province will innovate its growth model in-depth, utilizing science-technology, innovation, digital transformation, and the private sector as primary drivers.
Within the province, development requirements for the new stage are increasingly demanding, characterized by a heavy workload and complex nature. The province must simultaneously resolve long-standing economic bottlenecks while proactively responding to newly emerging issues. This reality demands a renewal of mindset and methodology, as well as the accurate selection of new growth drivers to create a breakthrough.
Based on a thorough situational assessment, the province has defined the general objective for 2026: to effectively exploit potentials, advantages, and resources for growth. The province will innovate its growth model in-depth, utilizing science-technology, innovation, digital transformation, and the private sector as primary drivers. Simultaneously, the province will accelerate administrative reform, improve the investment and business environment, complete infrastructure systems, enhance human resource quality, and comprehensively develop socio-cultural fields while ensuring social welfare, national defense, security, and social order.
At the conference to deploy socio-economic tasks for 2026, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Tran Duy Dong emphasized the committee’s governance principle: "Continue to promote a spirit of solidarity and collective effort; high determination, great effort, and drastic action." The province strives to complete and exceed 15 out of 15 socio-economic targets, with five key indicators: economic growth, per capita income, total local state budget revenue, the disbursement rate of public investment capital assigned by the Prime Minister, and the poverty reduction rate.
In production and business, the province continues to restructure the industrial sector toward modernity, enhancing productivity, quality, and added value. Focus will be placed on developing key industries, supporting industries, mechanical engineering, and electronics. Trade, services, tourism, and logistics will be promoted in conjunction with the application of science-technology and digital transformation. Agriculture will be restructured toward large-scale, concentrated commodity production, developing key products and OCOP (One Commune One Product) items, and enhancing processing value and traceability linked to sustainable rural development.
Innovating the growth model is an objective requirement and a strategic choice for the province in its new development phase. With high political determination, the synchronous involvement of the entire political system, and the consensus of the people and the business community, it is believed that Phu Tho will triumphantly achieve its 2026 socio-economic development goals. This will create a solid foundation for the 2026–2030 period, aiming toward rapid, sustainable, and comprehensive development.
