Phu Tho Coordinates with the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to Build a Regional Service and Logistics Center

On the afternoon of October 21, Comrade Vu Viet Van, Member of the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, chaired a working session with a delegation from the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance (VCA) led by Ms. Cao Xuan Thu Van, Chairwoman of the VCA. The working session focused on agreeing upon the location and site for implementing the Project on the Center for Consultation, Support, Service Provision, Formation, and Development of Cooperatives and Cooperative Unions for the Northern Region in Tam Duong Commune.

Attending the session were leaders representing departments and branches: Construction, Finance, Agriculture and Environment, Provincial Cooperative Alliance, Office of the Provincial People’s Committee, alongside the Tam Duong Commune People’s Committee.

Overview of the working session.

The Project on the Center for Consultation, Support, Service Provision, Formation, and Development of Cooperatives and Cooperative Unions for the Northern Region is invested by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance. This is a Group B project with a total investment of approximately 292 billion VND sourced from central budget development investment funds, scheduled for implementation during the 2026–2029 period.

Once operational, the Center will function as a centralized infrastructure complex with synchronous, modern technical systems designed to provide package essential support services for cooperatives and cooperative unions (with a focus on agricultural cooperatives) across the entire Northern region. The project emphasizes assisting preliminary processing, preservation, testing, logistics, trade promotion, development consulting, and OCOP product promotion; while effectively connecting raw material areas with processing facilities and distribution networks.

According to planning, the project encompasses key items: a 9-story administrative building (floor area of approximately 9,000 m2); cold storage systems (approximately 1,000 m2) and dry storage (nearly 1,500 m2); a trial production and vocational training sub-zone (approximately 5,000 m2); alongside an outdoor trade fair and exhibition space (nearly 1,500 m2).

Speaking at the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vu Viet Van affirmed: Approving the site location and deploying the Center for Consultation, Support, Service Provision, Formation, and Development of Cooperatives in the area will serve as a strategic solution to resolve bottlenecks in logistics, preservation, and consumption linkages for agricultural products and OCOP goods, creating new space and momentum to drive the collective economy toward modern and sustainable development.

Based on consensus reached at the session, Phu Tho Province agreed to the proposed site location for the project within commercial and service land plot DV-36 (under the 1/500 Scale Detailed Planning for Landscape Architecture along the North-South Spatial Axis of Vinh Phuc Urban Area, within Tam Duong Commune) with a land area of approximately 2.7 hectares. The Vice Chairman requested the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to rapidly finalize project adjustment dossiers and proceed with subsequent steps in strict compliance with legal regulations; notably emphasizing clear delineation of responsibilities regarding land allocation and land management for lead implementation units.
