According to the Department of Construction, by the end of the second quarter of 2026, the province had 30 social housing projects under implementation, providing a total of 23,711 apartments. Compared with the end of the first quarter, an additional 256 units had been completed and handed over, indicating that construction progress has accelerated across a number of projects.
In implementing the Government’s programme to develop at least one million social housing units nationwide, Phu Tho has focused on removing obstacles and accelerating investment in social housing projects. During the first half of the year, the province commenced construction on four projects with a combined capacity of 2,310 apartments.
From now until the end of 2026, the province plans to break ground on 10 additional projects, which will provide 6,916 more social housing units.
Notably, over the past year, Phu Tho has approved investment policies for 13 social housing projects and commenced construction on nine projects, significantly expanding the province’s affordable housing supply to meet growing residential demand.
Under the target assigned by the Prime Minister, Phu Tho is expected to complete 64,400 social housing units by 2030.
In the coming period, the Department of Construction will continue coordinating with local authorities and project developers to remove implementation bottlenecks and accelerate construction progress. The province aims to complete 14,460 social housing units in 2026, in line with its development plan, contributing to social welfare, improving living standards, and promoting sustainable urban development throughout the province.
