On the 10th day of the third lunar month annually, people in the province prepared meals to pay tribute to the Hung Kings. This is a traditional cultural characteristic that expresses respect and thanks to ancestors who constructed the country.
The family of Mr. Nguyen Luong Can and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Khoa (Area 3, Hung Lo Commune, Viet Tri City) offered meals and insence.
Worshiping ancestors with particular offerings and rituals, such as preparing meals to present to ancestors on certain occasions, is a traditional cultural beauty of Vietnam in the procedure for performing the Hung King Worship Belief. As a result, on the 10th day of the third lunar month annually, the family of Mr. Nguyen Luong Can and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Khoa (area 3, Hung Lo commune, Viet Tri city), along with their children and grandchildren, respectfully offered a tray of meals on this day.
They have passed down the traditional beauty for many generations.
Mr. Can’s family gathered under the ancient house, which dates back over 200 years, to prepare a tray of meals for Hung Kings with traditional local foods.
Hung King’s death anniversary is an opportunity for children and grandchildren to congregate and reconnect with their grandparents and parents, reminding them of the moral tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source”.
The family of Mr. Nguyen Van Ha and Mrs. Do Thi Xuan, like Mr. Can’s family and many other families in Hung Lo commune, awoke early to prepare a tray of meals to offer the Hung Kings on this day.
There are two essential items of chung cake and giay cake relating to the tale of Lang Lieu prince during the Hung Kings period.
No matter where they are, they all pray for bountiful crops and the proliferation of all things; family, clan, and brothers join and love each other.
Since 2019, Viet Tri City has deployed and spread so that residents can prepare a tray of thanks meals on the Hung King’s Death Anniversary. That highlights the community’s involvement in conserving and promoting the heritage value of Hung King Worship. All spiritual cultural values, views about ancestral origins, and ancestor worship culture have formed the fundamental values and virtues of the Vietnamese people, igniting the nation’s holy beliefs forever.
