In 2025, despite the uncertainties of the global economy, Phu Tho Province’s export activities maintained positive growth. This result reflects the adaptability of the business community, the Government’s flexible management, and the timely, synchronized support solutions implemented by the province. This success serves as a vital foundation for Phu Tho to enter 2026 with even higher export targets.

The province currently has over 900 enterprises engaged in import-export activities. In 2025, Phu Tho’s export turnover reached nearly 40 billion USD, placing it among the top 5 provinces and cities with the highest export value in Vietnam.
This achievement is particularly noteworthy given the complex global economic environment, characterized by rising trade protectionism, intensifying competition among exporting nations, and the risk of supply chain disruptions in several major markets. Domestically, the Government’s synchronized measures to control inflation, stabilize the macro-economy, and flexibly coordinate fiscal and monetary policies have created a favorable environment for production and business.
Phu Tho has also implemented various solutions to support exporters, focusing on innovating trade promotion, connecting domestic and international supply and demand, and providing timely updates on market trends, trade policies, and technical regulations from importing partners.
Enterprises have proactively invested in technology, strictly controlled product quality, and diversified their markets and product ranges to meet increasing global standards.
Phu Dat Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Thuy Van Industrial Park), which specializes in tarpaulins and packaging for Europe, Japan, and the USA, produces approximately 7,000 tons annually. Currently, the company’s orders have already filled the production plan through the end of the first quarter of 2026.
Ms. Nguyen Thị Lan Huong, Deputy Director of Sales, stated: "Our export markets demand high standards for quality and origin. To meet these, we have focused on upgrading coating and lamination technologies while strictly controlling the entire process from raw materials to finished products. Improving labor productivity and product quality helps us maintain stable orders and expand production scale."
On a general level, the province’s export structure continues to shift positively, increasing the proportion of processing and manufacturing industries while gradually reducing dependence on raw materials. The province has established key export commodities, including: electronics and phone components; mechanical parts, auto and motorcycle components; plastic products; processed wood products; electric cables; metals and metal products; garments; tea; and various processed agricultural products.
The province’s export markets have expanded by strengthening traditional ties while effectively leveraging Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). This has helped establish tight supply chains with major industrial parks regionally and nationally, creating a vital foundation for the province to promote high-tech industries, enhance value-added potential, and strengthen international economic integration.
In the coming time, provincial authorities will continue to effectively implement Action Program No. 10 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee regarding the Politburo’s Resolution No. 59 on international integration in the new context. Accordingly, a core task is to enhance the efficiency of international economic integration to build an independent, self-reliant, and resilient economy, while promoting economic restructuring, innovating growth models, and driving digital transformation. Effort will be focused on the effective implementation of international economic agreements and linkages, especially new-generation FTAs, to expand export markets for the province’s key products and competitive advantages.
In addition to market and product-based solutions, the province continues to promote digital transformation in import-export management, administrative reform, and support for businesses to reduce costs and processing times. Strategic goals include diversifying export markets, increasing the export share to potential regions and emerging markets, and restructuring export goods toward higher processed value and the discovery of new high-value export products. Special attention will be given to developing exports through cross-border e-commerce and foreign distribution systems.
According to Mr. Hoang Xuan Phu, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, the provincial industry and trade sector will continue to accompany businesses through training, consultancy, partner matching, and support in resolving arising obstacles. Furthermore, trade promotion will be strengthened with a practical and effective approach, focusing on providing market forecasts, policy updates, and trade customs of partner countries to help businesses proactively develop suitable production and business plans. Simultaneously, early warnings regarding technical barriers will be provided to help enterprises mitigate risks during market entry.
With these synchronized solutions, Phu Tho’s export activities are expected to continue playing a vital role in market expansion, enhancing corporate competitiveness, and contributing stably to the province’s socio-economic growth.
