Overview of Ngoi Gianh reservoir
Ngoi Gianh Reservoir, located in Trung Son Commune, Yen Lap District, is known for its pristine natural beauty and the poetic charm of its lake landscape. With a total investment exceeding VND 1,000 billion, the project also promises to become an ideal destination for tourists seeking scenic views and unique check-in spots.
Ngoi Gianh Reservoir in Trung Son Commune, Yen Lap District, has a designed capacity of nearly 37 million m3.
The main dam is a concrete gravity structure, measuring over 240 meters in length and more than 70 meters at its highest point. The total investment for the project stands at VND 1,279 billion.
Ngoi Gianh Reservoir serves multiple vital functions. It helps regulate water sources and provides irrigation for 9,690 hectares of cultivated land. It also supplies water for aquaculture and domestic use for approximately 160,000 residents. Additionally, it supplements water sources for small and medium-sized reservoirs in the region and contributes to mitigating flash floods and stabilizing the lives of people across 35 disadvantaged communes in Yen Lap, Cam Khe, and Thanh Ba districts.
Recognizing the advantages of the reservoir’s clean, clear water—minimally affected by rainfall and flooding—Yen Lap Aquatic Products Cooperative registered the surface water area with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Department of Agriculture and Environment) in November 2023 for cage fish farming, contributing to the local economy.
With its tranquil scenery and fresh air, Ngoi Gianh Lake is expected to become an appealing destination for ecotourism in the near future.
