From August 18 to 28, Phu Tho Province will host the 30th National Youth Mountain Bike and Road Cycling Championships. The event will gather nearly 500 participants, including members of the Organizing Committee, referees, coaches, and 320 athletes from 15 teams representing provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide, such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Thanh Hoa, Son La, Lao Cai, and the Army.
A cyclist competes in the mountain biking event of the 2024 season.
The championships feature two main disciplines: the Youth Road Cycling competition (August 18–24 in Hoa Binh and Tan Hoa wards) and the Youth Mountain Bike competition (August 25–28 at the Thong Nhat Ward mountain bike course). The opening ceremony will take place at 7:30 a.m. on August 18 at Hoa Binh Square.
The event aims not only to effectively implement the campaign “All People Exercise Following the Example of Great President Ho Chi Minh”, but also to provide Phu Tho’s athletes and coaches with opportunities for exchange, competition, and skill improvement, while promoting the province’s tourism potential, culture, and people - the ancestral land to domestic and international visitors.
The local Organizing Committee has coordinated with relevant departments to ensure race routes are inspected, facilities upgraded, and landscapes beautified. Banners, panels, and slogans will be displayed at key points, while medical, ambulance, security, and volunteer teams will be on full standby.
With thorough preparations, Phu Tho expects the 2025 National Youth Mountain Bike and Road Cycling Championships to be held safely and successfully, leaving a positive impression on athletes and visitors alike.
