On the afternoon of June 27 (local time), the final events and the award ceremony for high-achieving athletes took place in Singapore as part of the 2025 Southeast Asian Age Group Championship. Phu Tho’s young swimmer, Nguyen Hoang Linh, delivered an outstanding performance, winning two gold medals, three silver medals, and two bronze medals.
Nguyen Hoang Linh earned a total of seven medals at the 2025 Southeast Asian Age Group Championship.
Representing the Vietnamese Youth Swimming Team, Phu Tho contributed two athletes: Nguyen Hoang Linh in the 13-year-old age group, and Pham Khang Wiliam in the 15-year-old age group. At the end of the competition, the promising young talent Nguyen Hoang Linh secured seven medals in total — two golds in the 200m freestyle (girls aged 13 and under) and the 800m freestyle (girls aged 18 and under), three silvers, and two bronzes. Her medals came from the following events: 400m and 800m freestyle (girls), 100m freestyle (girls), 400m freestyle relay (girls), and 400m freestyle relay (mixed).
The Vietnamese Youth Swimming Team finished third overall.
In recent years, Nguyen Hoang Linh has emerged as one of the most promising young swimmers of Phu Tho, with impressive achievements at both national and international youth-level competitions. Her contributions to this year’s Southeast Asian Age Group Championship not only helped the Vietnamese Youth Swimming Team finish third overall—with 22 gold medals, 21 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals—but also fueled new hopes for Phu Tho Swimming to reach greater heights in the years to come.
