Phu Tho Strengthens Connections and Attracts Investment from Thai Enterprises

On the afternoon of September 24, Comrade Bui Hong Do — Director of the Provincial Investment Promotion and Enterprise Support Center — held a working session with a delegation from the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) led by Mr. Polapat Naphavaranonth — Executive Director of the Thai Enterprise Development Division, BOI Bangkok Office — who visited to learn about the investment and business environment as well as cooperation opportunities in the province.

Welcoming the delegation and Thai enterprises to explore the investment and business climate in Phu Tho, Director Bui Hong Do provided a general overview of the province’s potential and advantages in attracting investment and fostering industrial growth, while sharing updates on the results of cooperation with and investments from Thai businesses in the area.

Phu Tho province currently hosts 7 investment projects by Thai enterprises with a total registered capital of approximately 91.4 million USD, primarily concentrated in processing and manufacturing, construction material production, and commercial services. Beside direct investment, Thai businesses are expanding cooperation in trade and distribution.

Notably, Phu Tho province has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Central Retail Vietnam regarding the construction of a GO! Shopping Center and with MM Mega Market Co., Ltd. regarding a supermarket and commercial center project in the province. These serve as important foundations to expand connections among production, trade, distribution, and logistics, creating further cooperation opportunities for businesses on both sides.

Comrade Bui Hong Do expressed his hope that Thai enterprises view Phu Tho not merely as a site for individual projects, but as a base to build production, supply, logistics, and distribution networks connecting to the Vietnamese market and regional value chains.

He expressed confidence that with the presence of Amata City Phu Tho, ongoing commercial projects, and a system of high-potential industrial parks, the province possesses favorable conditions to promote a broader cooperation ecosystem between Thai and local Phu Tho enterprises.

Congratulating Phu Tho on its new strides in investment attraction and socio-economic development, Mr. Polapat Naphavaranonth expressed a desire to receive further details on the local investment environment, industrial park infrastructure, land availability, incentive policies, priority investment sectors, and project implementation conditions.

During the working session, representatives from provincial departments, boards, and sectors exchanged views and provided information addressing the delegation’s areas of interest. Through this, they affirmed that Phu Tho province remains constantly ready to accompany and support investors throughout project research and execution. They also highlighted the desire to strengthen ties and expand investment cooperation between Phu Tho and Thai enterprises in the coming time.
