In the 2026 New Year holiday during four days, the sacred Ancestral Land—the cradle of the Vietnamese nation—is ready to welcome visitors with a vibrant tourism tapestry. Phu Tho is a place where majestic nature, unique cultural identity, and increasingly professional, high-quality services converge in harmony, offering fresh and exciting experiences for both domestic and international travelers.

For a long time, Tam Dao has been a favorite choice for many travelers during holidays. Nestled amidst the clouds, this town retains a dreamy, fairy-tale beauty with colorful houses leaning against the mountains, mist-shrouded cafes, and time-worn mossy stone steps. Spanning over 10,700 hectares, Tam Dao is one of Northern Vietnam’s largest high-mountain resorts, boasting the rich ecosystem of Tam Dao National Park alongside a series of captivating attractions.
Stretching over 100 km with a surface area of nearly 8,000 hectares and 47 islands, the vast Hoa Binh Lake is an ideal destination. During the holidays, its tourist spots become top choices for nature lovers. Thung Nai, often called the “Ha Long on Land,” charms visitors with its emerald waters and undulating islands reflecting the sky. Meanwhile, the Muong Hoa area—the core of Hoa Binh Lake—is progressively developing a system of high-quality destinations.
The lake area is also a distinct cultural space featuring spiritual sites like Ba Chua Thac Bo Temple, Thac Bo Cave, Hoa Tien Cave, and Dua and Ngoc Islands, alongside the authentic daily lives of the Muong, Dao, and Thai ethnic groups. Eco-tourism projects like PriorBay (Ngoi Hoa Eco-tourism Area) offer premium villas, yacht berths, and cultural experience zones to meet diverse traveler needs.

Tourists enjoy kayaking at Mit Retreat in Da Bac Commune.
At Hien Luong Bay, the resort-and-community tourism ecosystem is thriving. Destinations such as Mit Retreat, Xoan Retreat, Mo Villa, and various local homestays are systematically invested in with deep respect for nature. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tung, Director of Mit Retreat, shared: "This is not just a place to rest, but a space for creativity and connection, allowing guests to truly embrace ’slow living' between the water and clouds."
As the ancestral land of the Vietnamese people, Phu Tho possesses exceptional cultural resources, most notably the Hung Kings Temple Special National Historical Site. This rich cultural and festival space blends seamlessly with spiritual, ecological, and resort destinations to create a diverse product portfolio.
Furthermore, Phu Tho boasts one of the most diverse natural ecosystems in Northern Vietnam. The cool year-round highlands of Tam Dao, Xuan Son, and Mai Chau are ideal for retreat tourism, trekking, and adventure sports. The rare hot mineral springs in Thanh Thuy and Kim Boi hold immense potential for wellness tourism and high-end retreats. Additionally, the system of natural lakes, rivers, streams, and caves—such as Hoa Binh Lake, Dai Lai Lake, and Van Hoi Lagoon—provides favorable conditions for ecotourism, exploration, and water sports. Tourism infrastructure is rapidly advancing with the emergence of numerous luxury resorts, eco-urban areas, and international-standard golf courses, including FLC Vinh Thinh, Wyndham Thanh Thuy, Serena Kim Boi, and Avana Retreat, alongside premier golf clubs like Tam Dao, Thanh Lanh, Phoenix, and Hilltop Valley Ky Son.

Long Coc Tea Hill (Long Coc Commune) continues to be a major attraction, inviting visitors to explore and experience its unique landscape.
Mr. Dang Tuan Hung, Head of the Tourism Management Division (Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism), stated that the province has strengthened measures to ensure that tourism activities during the New Year are safe, civilized, and high-quality.
The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has issued official guidelines for the 2026 New Year and Lunar New Year (Year of the Wood Horse). Local authorities and management boards of the Hung Kings Temple and Xuan Son National Park are urged to organize unique cultural events that promote the local tourism brand. Rigorous inspections will be conducted at lodging facilities, restaurants, and transport services to handle violations strictly.
Service providers are mandated to publicly list prices, prohibit “price gouging,” and maintain high service quality. Hotlines have been established to receive and resolve tourist feedback promptly, ensuring a safe and hospitable environment for all.
