From May 17 to 18, the final matches and awards ceremony for outstanding athletes took place at Nam Dan District Gymnasium in Nghe An Province as part of the 29th National Wrestling Championship.
Le Dai Phuc, a wrestler from Phu Tho Province, clinched the gold medal in the men’s 81kg category, securing the top spot on the podium.
This year, the Phu Tho Wrestling Team sent four male athletes to compete in several weight categories, including 60kg, 63kg, 66kg, and 81kg. At the conclusion of the tournament, the team earned one gold medal—thanks to Le Dai Phuc—and one bronze medal, won by Duy Trong Thang in the 63kg category. This is considered a solid performance for Phu Tho Wrestling, especially given the high level of competition and the presence of many top-tier athletes from around the country.
The 29th National Wrestling Championship was held from May 12 to 18 with nearly 200 athletes representing 17 provinces, cities, and sectors known for their strong wrestling traditions. The event was part of the activities for the 2025 Sen Village Festival, contributing to the festival’s rich cultural atmosphere and attracting attention from locals and tourists alike.
