On February 24, the working delegation of the Vietnam - Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association visited and held a working session with the province. Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Huy Ngoc, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, along with leaders of several departments, sectors, universities, colleges, and the Provincial Business Association.

Amidst the increasingly strengthened and developed cooperative relations between Vietnam and Japan, Phu Tho province has received significant attention and support from Vietnamese associations in Japan, including the Vietnam - Japan Economic Cooperation Promotion Association. Currently, the province has 210 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of over 3.4 billion USD, including seven investment projects from Japan with a total registered capital of approximately 350 million USD.
During the program, delegates discussed and proposed ideas in the fields of healthcare, industry and trade, and education. Specifically, in the healthcare sector, Phu Tho province hopes that Japanese partners will support provincial general and specialized hospitals in improving the quality of human resources and transferring medical techniques through various methods, such as sending staff for training in Japan or inviting Japanese experts to Vietnam for direct knowledge transfer in specialized fields such as cardiology, psychiatry, and oncology.

In the education sector, Phu Tho province seeks Japan’s support in connecting and providing lecturers and experts for Hung Vuong University and Phu Tho Vocational College to introduce new training programs in information technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and more. Additionally, support is requested to connect and facilitate Japanese volunteers and lecturers to teach at Phu Tho Medical College in nursing and other disciplines aligned with Japan’s labor demand.
Furthermore, Phu Tho aims to establish connections and introduce Japanese partners to implement internship programs lasting from six months to one year for local students in fields such as nursing, mechanical engineering, electrical-electronics, information technology, and agriculture-forestry in Japan. The province is also seeking potential partners interested in recruiting nurses to work in Japanese hospitals and nursing homes.
