On December 24, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development held a conference to summarize the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program in 2024 and deploy directions and tasks for 2025. Attending the conference were representatives of districts, cities, towns, and entities with products recognized as achieving 4-star OCOP status in 2024.
OCOP products and craft villages of Phu Tho participate in trade fairs and exhibitions to promote, introduce, and expand the product consumption market.
In 2024, the whole province will have 99 new products (of which 94 3-star products are recognized by the district People’s Committee; 5 4-star products are recognized by the provincial People’s Committee). By the end of 2024, the whole province has 306 products and OCOP product groups with 3 stars or higher, including 1 5-star product, 49 4-star products, and 256 3-star products. Thanh Son is the district with the most OCOP products, with 33 products, and is also the district with the most 4-star OCOP products, with 17 products. The OCOP program has attracted 220 entities, including cooperatives, cooperative groups, enterprises, households, and production establishments from 152/225 communes and wards to participate. Up to now, 3 districts have achieved 100% of communes with OCOP products: Yen Lap district, Thanh Thuy district, and Lam Thao district. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has also submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the National Council for Evaluation and Classification of OCOP Products for appraisal, classification, and recognition of 5-star OCOP products for potential products such as Thanh Ba Purple Tea Buds of UT Tea Investment and Development Company Limited, Van Linh Commune, Thanh Ba District; Clean Rice Noodles “born from the village” Hung Lo of Hung Lo Rice Noodles Cooperative, Hung Lo Commune, Viet Tri City; Con Cui Gift Set of Lita Foods Joint Stock Company, Thanh Son Town, Thanh Son District.
The promotion and trade promotion of OCOP products has always been of interest and focus to all levels, sectors, and localities. In addition to organizing for entities to participate in fairs and exhibitions, the province has built 15 points of sale and introduced OCOP products in 10 districts, cities, and towns.
In 2025, the province strives to develop and standardize 62 more products and product groups for 45-50 new entities with products rated 3 stars or higher, including 57 new 3-star products, 5 new 4-star products, 4 products upgraded from 3 stars to 4 stars, and 1 product upgraded from 4 stars to 5 stars. By the end of 2025, the province will have 368 products meeting OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher.
The province has 306 products and product groups achieving OCOP standards. Building OCOP products contributes to increasing the value of agricultural products and creating stable jobs for many workers in localities in the province.
To achieve the above goals, the agricultural sector will continue to organize annual evaluation and classification of OCOP products, ensuring strictness, objectivity, and fairness, and not chasing quantity. Strengthen inspection and supervision of the application of policies and regulations on product assessment and classification in localities; strengthen inspection and supervision of product quality of subjects and OCOP products after being assessed and recognized.
Strengthen activities to promote and introduce OCOP products in many forms and support subjects participating in the program to apply information technology and e-commerce in introducing, promoting, and consuming products. Strengthen information and propaganda work on the OCOP Program; support people to actively participate in registering product ideas, developing, and perfecting products.
