The year 2025 holds special significance for Phu Tho as the province successfully completed its administrative restructuring while maintaining high and comprehensive socio-economic growth. Within a consolidated organizational apparatus and expanded development space, this year’s achievements not only reflect the flexible and decisive governance of the political system but also establish a vital foundation for the province to enter 2026 with a proactive mindset and expectations for an even stronger breakthrough.
In 2025, Phu Tho’s economic picture recorded many highlights. The GRDP growth rate is estimated at 10.52%, ranking 4th nationwide and leading the Northern Midland and Mountainous region. This exceeded set targets despite numerous intertwined challenges. The total economic scale reached over 412 trillion VND, demonstrating the clear resilience of the production and service sectors during the province’s transition. Per capita GRDP reached 111.4 million VND, a 14.37% increase over 2024, reflecting a gradual improvement in growth quality and living standards.

Phu Tho’s urban landscape is increasingly flourishing, worthy of its role as a driving force center of the Northern Midland and Mountainous region.
A standout highlight of 2025 was the visible transformation in site clearance. Identified as the “key link” determining the progress of investment projects—especially in infrastructure, industrial zones, and urban development—long-standing obstacles were systematically removed. Many key projects that had been delayed for years were finally unblocked, creating “clean land” funds to attract investment. Following the merger, local authorities quickly stabilized their organizations and promoted a spirit of responsibility, contributing to high public consensus.
The investment and business environment has consistently improved toward transparency, openness, and business-friendliness. In 2025, the province attracted 1.51 billion USD in FDI (a 64% increase over 2024) and nearly 220 trillion VND in DDI (3.6 times higher than the previous year). Large-scale projects utilizing modern, high-value-added technology were licensed, aligning with the province’s sustainable development orientation. Additionally, 4,546 newly established enterprises provided fresh resources and growth momentum for the economy.
In financial and budgetary management, Phu Tho demonstrated proactivity and effectiveness. State budget revenue in 2025 is estimated at over 57 trillion VND (127.5% of the estimate), far exceeding initial expectations. This created a crucial resource for infrastructure investment and social welfare policies. Public investment disbursement is estimated at 95% of the plan, reflecting a massive effort to accelerate transport, healthcare, and educational projects.
Entering 2026, Phu Tho stands before a wealth of new opportunities characterized by an expanded development space and strengthened potential. Building upon the achievements of 2025, the province is committed to maintaining macroeconomic stability, striving for a GRDP growth rate of approximately 11%. Key priorities include resolving bottlenecks in site clearance and promoting selective investment attraction, with a clear preference for high-tech and environmentally friendly projects. Public investment will be strategically directed toward focal points to avoid fragmented spending, while strictly adhering to financial discipline and capital efficiency.
Digital transformation, the development of advanced “New-style Rural Areas,” and the assurance of social welfare remain consistent, overarching missions in development governance. The ultimate objective is to enhance the quality of life for all citizens, building Phu Tho into a well-developed province in the region, truly deserving of its role as the driving force center of the Northern Midland and Mountainous region.
The year 2025 has concluded with many significant milestones. It was not only the year to reach the “finish line” for socio-economic targets amidst organizational restructuring but also the year that laid a solid foundation for a new phase of growth. With high political determination, a proactive and flexible approach, and the consensus of the people, Phu Tho enters 2026 with the confidence and aspiration for an even more powerful breakthrough on the path ahead.
