WHCF Executive Committee delegation worked in the province

On April 1, the Executive Committee of the World Health City Forum (WHCF) - Korea, chaired by Professor Yun - Chun Hong of the University of Medicine - Seoul National University and President of WHCF, paid a working and invited Phu Tho province to attend the 2nd World Health City Forum in Korea in 2024.

At the meeting, WHCF Chairman Yun-Chun Hong stated that the WHCF, which will be held from November 12-14, 2024 in Incheon, South Korea, with the theme "Urbanization and planetary health" will provide an opportunity for the government, managers, and experts to discuss the fields of health and urbanization, two critical issues that many countries are currently facing. The agenda will include the ASEAN Health Ministers' Meeting and the Mayors' Conference of major ASEAN cities. Following the success of the first organization, which had over 10,000 delegates attend the Forum in 2023, the Organizing Committee intends to have the participation of Vietnam as well as leaders from a number of provinces and significant cities with a large medical system in development. The WHCF Chairman stressed that the Program's objective is to create a "smart medical city" - a location that employs sophisticated technology, artificial intelligence applications, Big Data... to link and construct medical networks between localities and nations all over the world. From there, increase the quality of medical services; make use of and promote existing infrastructure; handle the problem of human resource allocation; and reduce the burden of treatment expenses on people... The WHCF Chairman expects that Phu Tho province's involvement would serve as a springboard for the province to gain access to resources and learn about smart city health care systems in other countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Ho Dai Dung affirmed: In recent years, although there are still many difficulties, Phu Tho province has always paid special attention and invested in all aspects for the health and safety sector. It is considered one of the localities with large-scale, modern medical infrastructure and equipment, meeting the requirements of medical examination, treatment, and people’s health care not only in the province. Phu Tho’s health sector has always undergone significant transformation as part of the province’s digital transformation agenda, yielding impressive outcomes. As a result, participating in the upcoming Forum will undoubtedly be a good opportunity to assist Phu Tho in continuing to promote its invested infrastructure, equipment, and human resources; at the same time, it opens up cooperation and development relationships in the field of health with other provinces and cities in the ASEAN region in general, and Korea in particular. Phu Tho province is likewise interested in adopting health and quality of life improvements as part of its plan to attract investment and socioeconomic growth. After receiving the invitation to attend the Forum, Mr. Ho Dai Dung tasked the Department of Health, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Medical College, and the city of Viet Tri with coordinating and preparing the participation material.
