On June 14, the Provincial Red Cross Society coordinated with the National Steering Committee to mobilize voluntary blood donation and the Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion to organize the program “Journey to the Land of the Fathers” to offer incense and pay tribute to the Hung Kings at the Hung King Temple Historical Relic Site.

Attending the program were comrade Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President, General Secretary of the Central Vietnam Red Cross Society, Head of the 2024 Honor Organizing Committee, Leader of the Office of the National Steering Committee to mobilize the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Phu Tho Provincial Red Cross Association, and 100 representative representatives of the National Youth Union.

On the top of Nghia Linh Mountain, members of the delegation from all parts of the country gathered to share the joy of compassionate hearts-hearts that know how to share their red blood to save their fellow citizens. Over the past decades, the camp has become a large humanitarian movement throughout the country, with tens of millions of blood units donated, bringing life, joy, and happiness to millions of patients in need of transfusion blood.

2024 is the 16th year the program honoring 100 outstanding blood donors nationwide has been held. This is also the year that marks many special events for voluntary blood donation activities, such as celebrating the 30th anniversary of launching the humanitarian blood donation movement in Vietnam and celebrating the 20th anniversary of International Blood Donor Day on June 14 with the message “Thank you to the person who gives the pink drop!”.
Among the 100 typical national delegates honored this year, there are 21 female delegates and 79 male delegates. The oldest delegate is 60 years old, and the youngest delegate is 22 years old. There are many delegates who have donated blood over 60, 70, 80, 100, and 120 times. Many delegates have mobilized hundreds and thousands of other people to donate blood to save lives. Phu Tho province is honored to have two delegates honored on this occasion.

This year’s series of honoring activities will take place over 3 days (from June 13 to 15) in Hanoi and Phu Tho, including: Journey “Returning to the Land of the Fathers” to offer incense and pay tribute to the Hung Kings; Ceremony to pay tribute to Uncle Ho; Offering incense at the Memorial of Martyrs and Heroes on Bac Son Street; Ceremony to honor 100 outstanding blood donors nationwide in 2024. In particular, on the afternoon of June 14, at the National Assembly Office, the Chairman of the National Assembly will meet to praise outstanding examples of blood donors, which demonstrates the special interest of the Party, State and Government leaders in the movement in general and people in particular.
