Dan Tru Hamlet, Tam Hong Commune, Phu Tho Province is renowned for Tro Pagoda – Dai Phuc Tu, one of the region’s long-standing spiritual landmarks. The pagoda was built during the Ly–Tran dynasties. Most notably, it was once the “birthplace” of a national treasure known as the Tro Pagoda Glazed Ceramic Tower.

In 1954, Tro Pagoda was burned down by invading forces and completely destroyed. It was later rebuilt by local residents with a simple, rustic beauty.

The pagoda was once home to the national treasure – the Tro Pagoda Glazed Ceramic Tower. Today, the artifact is preserved at the Hung Vuong Museum, Facility No. 2.

A unique feature for visitors to Tro Pagoda is the strong sense of connection between the communal house – the pagoda – and the village. Adjacent to Tro Pagoda is the ancient Dan Tru Communal House, with its softly curved rooflines and simple carvings marked by the passage of time.

The harmony between the communal house and the pagoda forms a distinctive cultural complex where folk beliefs naturally blend with Buddhism.

Entering the main sanctuary of Tro Pagoda, visitors are greeted by solemnly arranged Buddha statues.

In the courtyard stands the statue of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, bringing a sense of tranquility and reminding visitors to cultivate compassion and goodness.

Every step taken in the pagoda courtyard evokes a feeling of peace, as though the place holds a quiet spiritual energy capable of soothing all worries.

Within the grounds, a small guest house displays Buddhist documents and artifacts, offering visitors deeper insight into the history of the pagoda and the surrounding region.

For the people of Dan Tru, Tro Pagoda is not only a sacred place of worship but also a cherished part of the village’s collective memory.

Various activities related to research, restoration, and cultural–historical education are organized, fostering stronger community attachment to local heritage.

Today, Tro Pagoda has become a spiritual destination and an indispensable center of religious life for the local community.
