Ensuring Progress and Quality for the Organization of the “Color of the Square Star” Gameshow Program

On September 14, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hieu—Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee—chaired a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the 2026 “Color of the Square Star” Gameshow program within the Military Region 2 armed forces hosted in the province.

The 2026 “Color of the Square Star” Gameshow program within the Military Region 2 armed forces is scheduled to be recorded at Hung Vuong Square, Phu Tho province, on the evening of September 29, 2026, featuring 4 competing teams from the provinces of Phu Tho, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, and Son La.

The competing teams will contend across 4 rounds: Greetings; Wise Square Star; Strong Square Star; and Talented Square Star; combined with audience interactions. The competition rounds focus on demonstrating legal understanding, national defense-military knowledge, skills, physical fitness, and talents of the self-defense militia force.

The program is a practical activity celebrating the 80th Traditional Day of the Military Region 2 Armed Forces (October 19, 1946 – October 19, 2026), looking forward to receiving the title Hero of the People’s Armed Forces. Through the program, authorities aim to step up propaganda, dissemination, and legal education regarding self-defense militia, national defense, and military matters; comprehensively reflecting the results of building, training, and operational activities of the self-defense militia force; thereby contributing to traditional education and fostering defense knowledge for cadres, soldiers, and the public.

According to the plan, the Phu Tho Provincial People’s Committee acts as the co-hosting organizing unit, with the Provincial Military Command serving as the standing agency taking the lead and coordinating execution. Up to the present moment, preparation work for the 2026 “Color of the Square Star” Gameshow in Phu Tho province has basically been implemented on schedule.

Accordingly, the Provincial Military Command has coordinated with relevant agencies and units to select the competing team, supporting performers, and cheerleaders totaling 161 people. Among them, the official and backup competing team named “Lac Hong” consists of 5 members; the audience force participating in filming cheerleading totals 1,000 people. Concurrently, the command has actively coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism to build scripts and actively organize rehearsals for the competition rounds under theatrical formats; completing joint rehearsal segments for opening and closing musical performances. Plans ensuring security, order, medical services, power supply, and publicity campaigns have been deployed according to schedule, satisfying program requirements.

Delivering concluding remarks, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Hieu highly appreciated the active involvement of relevant agencies and units in preparation work and rehearsals for participating in the 2026 “Color of the Square Star” Gameshow program.

He requested members of the Organizing Committee and relevant agencies, units, and localities—especially the Provincial Military Command—to strictly adhere to assigned tasks and program time milestones; enhance coordination, and promptly report and propose solutions to remove difficulties and entanglements so that the program takes place on schedule and with high quality. Participating forces must be arranged reasonably and organized to rehearse seriously, ensuring content quality.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Hieu noted that because the program involves a large number of participating forces and spectators attending to watch, units must proactively prepare the site grounds, landscape, and conditions serving the recording; formulating and deploying plans to ensure political security, social order, and safety before, during, and after the program. Alongside this, visual propaganda and mass media publicity should be boosted to create widespread appeal, contributing to the successful organization of the program in the province.
