Establishment of Tan Phu Town in Tan Son District

On December 24, Tan Son District solemnly held the ceremony to announce Resolution No. 1282/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated November 14, 2024, of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the establishment of Tan Phu Town. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vi Manh Hung, member of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda Department, and leaders of a number of departments, branches, and Tan Son district.

In 2007, Tan Son District was established with the administrative, economic, cultural, and social center located in Tan Phu Commune. After nearly 18 years of investment and construction, Tan Phu Commune has made strong steps in socio-economic development; urban infrastructure has been increasingly invested in and built synchronously and completely. Total budget revenue in 2024 will reach over 17.4 billion VND. Average income per capita is nearly 40 million VND/person/year. The average poverty rate in the last 3 years has reached 8.72%.

The economic structure has shifted towards increasing the proportion of industry, trade, and services. The transportation system has been asphalted and concreted to meet the travel and freight transport needs of the people. The quality of education, health care, culture, physical training, and sports has been constantly improved. Attention has been paid to ensuring social security and poverty reduction.

On October 12, 2016, Tan Phu commune was recognized as a type V urban area in Decision 2590/QD-UBND of the People’s Committee of Phu Tho province. On November 14, 2024, the National Assembly Standing Committee issued Resolution No. 1282/NQ-UBTVQH15 on the establishment of Tan Phu Town in Tan Son District. In his congratulatory speech to the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Tan Son District, Comrade Vi Manh Hung, Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Propaganda Department, requested that the Party Committee of Tan Phu Town and Tan Son District Party Committee urgently direct the implementation of procedures and processes for perfecting government personnel according to the law. Arrange and assign the apparatus and personnel to ensure streamlining, compactness, strength, effectiveness, and efficiency. Evaluate closely and accurately the results of the 2020-2025 term; from there, propose viewpoints and development targets that are both striving and feasible in the new term.

Building a strong local armed force in all aspects; maintaining political stability and social order and safety to ensure a peaceful life for the people and socio-economic development.

The establishment of Tan Phu Town is a major turning point, a driving force for Tan Son district to make more efforts to build Tan Phu into a town rich in cultural identity and sustainable development.
