As part of a series of events sponsored by the Provincial Women’s Union in commemoration of International Women’s Day on March 8, women members from all areas and units in the province participated in practical actions to react to “Ao dai Week” recognizing the beauty of the ancestral land’s women.
From March 1 to 8, women in localities and units actively participated in the event through innovative and practical activities such as wearing Ao Dai that is appropriate for work characteristics and working space. “Ao dai Week” seeks to produce a spreading impact of the beauty of ao dai in life, thereby rallying the community to join hands to defend and preserve “Vietnamese Cultural Heritage”.

In honor of ao dai week, members of the Women’s Union of Hung Lo commune in Viet Tri city dressed beautifully in colorful ao dai. To create beautiful photographs with traditional ao dai, the ladies picked well-known local community tourist locations like as ancient communal house and banyan trees to pose together, shoot photos, and highlight the beauty of Ao Dai, which has existed for decades.

March 8 provides a unique opportunity for female physicians and nurses at the Stroke Center - Provincial General Hospital to temporarily remove their white blouses and wear a stunning ao dai. They, like other female members, chose to wear ao dai on March 8 to help propagate and appreciate traditional Vietnamese women’s clothes.

At several schools, many teachers like to wear ao dai to the class. The picture of soft and graceful teachers in traditional ao dai evokes affection and everlasting memories in many generations of pupils.

International Women’s Day, March 8, is approaching. Joining the joyous and exciting environment to celebrate “half” of the globe, the women also enjoyed themselves by dressing in bright and beautiful traditional costumes. The beauty of the ladies, along with the elegant ao dai, has helped to fill the flower garden of Vietnamese women with fragrance.
